Anyone else revved up for a new NASCAR season?

I loved NASCAR before FOX took over the chase. But, the synthetic ways to make the it interesting "The Chase" is slowly killing it. Then there is the Dale Jr. Didn't win let's change the rules as well. I rather watch Formula one or Indy Car instead. Daytona is the only race that I might catch. But, I was surprised that I missed the clash myself

I miss the days where they had cars you could identify, as opposed to stickers on a template.

I'll add my vote to the "no" column. I respect it as a form of motorsport for what it is and the style of racing...but just can't get into it or find much interest in watching.

I'm really into IMSA and WEC racing these days, although I'm leaning more towards IMSA with the explosion of manufactures and the variety of cars in the DPi, and GTD classes. Having only two manufactures in WEC's LMP1 really makes it hard to get into. Porsche or Toyota will be on the podium every race.

I started watching more of the Lucas Off Road series and like that better, along with some of the WRC rally cars.

The saddest thing it that speedvision used to carry all of these, as well as lower levels of almost every type of motor racing. When Fox bought it and turned it into the Nascar channel all of that went away.

So true. Speed vision carried all manner of racing from F1 to Dakar to WRC to Australian V8s and everything in between. They even covered really strange stuff like tractor pulls and swamp buggy racing. It was a dark day for motor heads when Speedvision went away

FS1 and FS2 do cover IMSA, but you can tell it is their lowest priority. Segments are constantly preempted or flipped between the two channels. Last season I forgot how many times I go on my DVR to watch a race only to find hours of UFC or NASCAR because they moved the racing to the other channel at the last minute or simply pre-empted that time slot.

I used to be a big NASCAR fan...not so much any more. It's too corporate, too Hollywood, too complicated. I do, however, like watching the NASCAR trucks race. We have a dirt track about an hour from me, and I go there several times a year. No big names, no big money, just racing.

+1 I used to be a huge fan making several races a year

Now i am lucky to watch 20 laps a year, much rather goto local tracks as well for some Saturday night action! $2 beers $1 popcorn and $17 admission to watch much better racing

Chase Elliot wins the the first Duel at Daytona, the Elliot Legacy continues!

NASCAR is dying. Viewership is way down from five years ago. I mean WAY down. I used to love it back in the good ole days. Now its unwatchable imo. The commentators are idiots. Their jokes suck, and they need to get waltrip the hell out of there. Just a bunch of young punks with fancy suits and walking billboards. The only way I'd watch again is in person only.
