Anyone else use a crock pot often?

Best investment ever. I make soups turkeys and chickens. Big oven.com all recipes.com r great for recipes

I say keep it. Seems like the type of girl you might go for would like the picture.

Just guessin'. . .
Good guess, She would be a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll, she would be a dog lover and like the woods, she would have old fashioned values and a job. Is that a lot to dream of? The avitar picture stays.

Edit: Oh yeah, and she would be in her forties.

I love my crock pot. I make beef stew, chili, corn chowder, roasts, etc in that thing. My favorite is my chili. I got the recipe all written down if you want it. It's pretty bomb...no gonna lie.

I usually get about 6 good size bowls of chili out of it. Grab some tortilla chips, throw a little shredded cheddar cheese on top, and a scoop of sour cream on the side...ooooooooh baby! I actually just got done finishing off my last bowl the other night. I miss it already, ha.

Give me your email address in a PM, and I'll send it your way. :dblthumb2:

We use ours for Chili, Roast, Soup, etc.

How do you make pulled pork BBQ??? I would like to try that...
Get Pork Butt put in crock pot or roaster for 6 to 8 hrs (depend on size) when falling apart remove it let it cool few minutes and start shredding it with 2 forks. Add your BB sauce and you are done.

Dave, the best beef stew I ever had was made in a crock pot. I wish I would have gotten the recipe. :(

The cool thing about that picture is that while I was sleeping, my dog Jack got up there and laid back like that and my room mate got the photo before either of us woke up.

You don't think a girl would be impressed with how much I love my dog?
I think your avatar is adorable!

It would impress any woman who loves dogs too!:props:

Great way to weed out the ones that dont .;)

I use the crock pot all the time. I have a few good recipes that came from allrecipes.com

We use ours a lot but it tends to be a cold weather thing, just like the BBQ is a summer thing. Chili, stew, pot roast, pulled pork, you name it. I love ours. Anything with a sauce or juice to it just rocks in the 'pot!!

You guys are pretty funny. Thanks for the laughs. It's nice to come home from a long work day and see the changes that were made in this thread. A big thanks to whomever took care of that. Now I'm off to whip something up to go in the crock pot.

I use my crock pot alot, being a single parent and needing to cook for kids. The pulled pork one i use is a piece of pork and I get McCormick's seasoning for pulled pork at the grocery store and use that. It is delicous. Another one I do alot if you want a cheap roast and is good, is get a beef heart. (Yes beef heart) place in the crock pot add 2 cans of mushrooms soup and let simmer for 6 hours. Make some mashed potatoes. You have a nice meal cuz the mushroom soup is your gravy. I am making one today. MMMMMMMM :hungry:

Thanks Dave, and everyone, for the good suggestions on preparing good home cooked meals. I'm a single dad with 2 children, and I'm a lousy cook, so when I get home in the evenings it's fast food joints. It's not good for you for the most part and it kills your pocket. I'm going to try the crock pot.

This has turned into a pretty good thread JSMet. When you really sit down and look at the money spent when you regularly eat at restaurants it can be staggering. Now instead of looking up Betty Crocker we can just come to this thread and get some great ideas for home cooking. Hopefully it keeps getting posted to.

With some of you lads boasting about your awesome chili recipes, maybe we need a new thread for the best chili recipe? Who goes first?
