Anyone use LC HydroTech Cyan pads with the 3401?

I ordered a bunch of hydro tech pads but haven't used a cyan yet. I've heard some have durability issues and others say technique is to blame for early failure.

I have used the cyan pads plenty of times on hard paint. Have yet to use them on soft paint though... But my dad's VW loved how they performed. I haven't had any issues with durability..

Mark,

I have not had any issues with the HT Cyan pads with a 3401. Granted I only used them for a few correction jobs, but nothing to complain about as of yet.

Hydrotech pads are the best performing pads on the market, hands down. Durability is in question, though. Good to see some positive replies.

I have used alot of different pads. I haven't used all pads that are out i nthe market so I can't say for sure the HT are the best, however, I will say they are damn good! Probably the best I have used.

I've been using the cyan Ht's with flex 3401 & GG 6" machines for quite some time.

No issues w/pad whatsoever.

I used the HydroTech pads on my 3401 with not problems at all, before I got rid of my 3401.

On the topic of the cyan pad shredding, that all depends on how much down pressure you are applying to the paint when doing correction work. I tend to use the cyan 3inch pads on my pe14 for doing spot defect removals. I really had no problem with the pad shredding but never did I apply heavy down pressure either. Sometime letting the pad and the product doing the work is the best practice for longevity.

The closed cell foam of the HT's truly rocks!! It noticeably keeps more product on the face of the pad giving a longer work time and smoother polishing. Excellent cut/finish ratio. Too bad they're not as durable as other pads out there.

You know what they say, it almost seems too good to be true. IMO sir I think the pros of the ht line of pads out ways the cons.

Hey, is your twin brother named SSizzlin?

Hydro's work great and in my experience they're durable. I'm just a enthusiast at probably the intermediate level. I'm actually transitioning to the hybrids...

Awesome pads. Durability not that great with the cutting pads
