Anyone use MF detergent and an HE washer to wash their towels?

No worries. I'm just trying to figure out if using MF detergent is effective in an HE washer. Nothing more, nothing less. To me, it seems like the lack of sudsing with MF detergent wouldn't be "activated" in an HE washer. The thicker traditional detergents(tide, etc..) would make a lot more sense. I'm going to pick up some ALL Free & Clear and be done with it. :dblthumb2:

i use an he washer, i do miss my old washer but i use all free and clear as well, a couple tips for you:
1-pre-soak the used mf towels in a 5 gallon bucket with a small amount of all, some degreaer, and hot water
2-use the bulky items setting on the washer (if your washer has one) it fills the tub up almost all the way with water
3-add the mf detergent after the washer has filled itself with water, (hit the "pause" button and once it unlocks the lid dump the soap in

SSizzlin' - I have a front load HE too , relatively new, works well with anything. I use free and clear, works great. Just got BF MF cleaner in bogo and have tried it once just for fun. Seems to make a bit of a difference with older towels.
Free and clear works pretty good for me.
The concept of the front load and less water is that the action of the clothes rubbing together, crashing into each other is 'scrubbing' the clothes whereas the older style the clothes were kinda floating in the water. The drum kind of rotates thru the level of water and acts like a grit gard of sorts. I always wish there was a little more water but...Look back in time or imagine 3rd world locations and picture how cloth has been cleaned. A reputable appliance repair guy told me that BTW.
Makes sense.
I always ad an extra rinse.

In three words "It works perfectly" An HE machine is about the best way you can wash your MF towels and get the best use of MF detergent products. They use less water so the solution is more concentrated and is MUCH foamier. I have an Asko HE machine (Very small) and use about half the recommended dose of MF detergent, any more and foam would be overflowing out of the machine.

The Asko machine is only fed with cold water, internal heating elements heat it to the temperature you select. I load my machine, add half the dose of MF detergent, set the temp at 40c (104f) and let it run a normal cycle. When wash is complete they go into the dryer for a normal dry. Perfect results every time.

I've used that in the past as well, with no issues.
