A little 60 or 80 grit sandpaper will make that pad look like new...... Ok, well almost

Yeah, a tri-axle that was used for hauling asphalt. I'll use nothing but mineral spirits and Q-tips. Think I'll have time for photos?oke:

They'll cut less but they aren't done. Use on.
The pads will still cut paint and do so effectively. He doesn't need to go out and buy new ones at this point. I have 9006's that I've had for five or more years now that still work and look worse.
It's a matter of *experience* good man. That pad will polish on for a long time.
I've been detailing for a few years. Sure, they're probably not toast, but they're not gonna work nearly to their full potential. Unless you're broke, why not spend a few bucks on some new pads that will last a good while longer and perform better? If you think about it, it makes plenty of sense. For those of you that think that pads are toast, how long have you been detailing and are you detailing as a business? Just curious.

Marc, I sincerely apologize if I offended you. I just thought you may not have anymore new pads or you don't want to spend money on new pads. I wouldn't use the pad you posted on paint, but that's just me, and I was offering my opinion.Sure, Mark it makes total sense and I agree with you. I have a ton of brand new pads and I can use them without a problem. I'm just asking everyone here what they think before I throw them away. Why throw away something that can still work right? If everyone says that the pad is shot then I'll throw it away no problems. Just wanted to hear it from the more experienced detailers. This is a forum, isn't it?
When your pads get to looking like that, toss them in a box. When the box is full send me a PM and I,ll give s 25on cents on the dollar for them and use them for another season.

It's a matter of opinion, I guess. I would never feel comfortable using pads that look like that.
When I bought these pads, they were $11 a piece and I only got about 4 uses out of them so to me that's expensive. I wanted to get more use out of my pads but this didn't happen and that's why I'm asking if I should throw it out or not. If you get 50-100 uses out of your pads then good for you. I'm trying to get the most use out of my pads. You need to have facts before you open your damn mouth and insulting me like that.

BTW: it was not an insult, it was a basic math statement.
Please read what I post, not what you infer my post to be.
If a quarter is expensive, what are you using for product, Turtle wax ?
If a pad is expensive I would hope you are not stopping at Dunkin Donuts to buy coffee in the morning or McD even with the 1.00 for any size cup route. That is expensive.
Better be making ground chicory root "coffee" at home in the AM instead of using real beans.
Step over a dollar to pick up a dime...

- Anything other than that is going to cost more than 0.25/ time detailing the car and even at TW non sale price, I would guess you are using more than 50 cents in product.
