Are we all hoarders!?!?!?!?!?!?

When it comes to detailing stuff, yes I am a hoarder :)

You are only a hoarder if you don't use the products and they just sit around. But I think we all have those few products that collect dust on the self behind all your favorite products.

You have made a mistake.

You do not have "an old Sears buffer"
You have a valuable collectors item that should be put on E-bay.
I did the same thing a couple of months ago and got $35.00 for it.

Wait...because someone needed a buffer? Or because it was rare and collectible? I don't think it cost $35 when I bought it...

However, I found something else in my basement that I see had sold for $850 (!?!?)...although mine might be in a little worse shape.

We are not hoarders!!

Have any of you ever watched the show Hoarders? Without exception every example shows a human cesspool of garbage and filth.

We are Connoisseurs, Collectors of some of the finest Car Care products available today used to protect vehicles valued in excess of $5,000,000.

I am a Collector......:props:

I am not a hoarder. I'm just...running out of room. :help: :p

Thanks Bobby.... i feel better already...it just struck me as strange when i wouldnt send off my fav wax to try a new could be fav wax so i thought i would see what others thought

I always try to do a spring cleaning of my shop. EVERY single year...I look at all my product, and think "I don't need all this stuff".

Then I try throwing unused, or old stuff out...when I do, it's like someone is ripping out my soul, haha. So now, I have shelves of product I'll most likely never use.

It's funny too, cause I'm always buying new stuff...and I have no problem moving on. Just can't toss it!

I actually am trying to part with some stuff today. I have an old Sears orbital buffer that I bought 20 or so years ago, and I was going to bring it to the dump. When I got it, I used it a few times but decided it was more trouble than it was worth, so I carefully packed it back up in the original box (even has the original Simoniz wax sample!) and it's been sitting on a shelf for close to 20 years I guess. So back to today, I open the box to take it out to recycle the cardboard and take the machine to the dump...but after seeing how "new" it looked...I closed the box and put it back on the shelf. Anybody know a good shrink?

Man did I laugh when I read this. I go through this on my Big Trak every once in a while and on a lot of other little things in my tool area and personal drawers in the house. Sometimes I simply move the unused stuff from room to room to hopefully find a use for it, but it never really gets used.

It's nice to break up the "how to" threads every once in a while. :dblthumb2:

Over the past 2 years I have collected a lot of stuff. At first it was for my own use really and I stuck to my main products for customer's cars. Then it turned into, I want to try this and that.

After 2 years I have enough wax, dressings, etc to probably last me 2 years at least.

One of my goals for 2012 is to use up some of the products I have sitting on my shelves before ordering something else.

Well put sir!

Being new to this addiction I have already stock piled for a nasty "winter" and already have way too much. Yet for some reason I have the urge and temptation to buy more, buy different things as I want to try them as well.

I swear I could do a different product on each body panel to do a test.

The good deal finder in me feels bad about passing up a good deal, yet the practical side of me wants to smack the deal finder in the face.

I too have to use up some stuff before I buy more, being as I do not do this professionally I have enough stuff, for how long not too sure. I do have enough stuff though, right after I buy "x" haha!

And you will!

But the good deal finder always wins in the end!

I too have to use up some stuff before I buy more.

But you won't, you'll just continue to buy..

No, you're just trying to convince yourself you do... Buy, buy, buy!!

BobbyG, you know me so well yet we have never met! The truth is so funny and pathetic sometimes! haha!

I agree with BobbyG. I'm a collector.

I just need an intervention for my problem lol.

I was OK with my detailing supplies, a mix of OTC stuff and products from the wholesale supply vendors. I had what I needed and not much more.

Then I discovered AutoGeek.

'Nuff said.
