I used this stuff before I bought some coatings, and it does work quite well. It will leave a white residue on the wheels that I had to go back over and remove once the wheels had dried.
The real problem with this stuff is that you have to apply it every 2 weeks or so, and at $7 per can, it can get expensive quick. In the long run, you're better off buying OptiCoat and applying it to the wheels after a thorough cleaning.
The Opti-Coat won't repel the brake dust the way the AA product does, but brake dust literally releases with a strong stream of water (not even a pressure washer). Pair that with some performance ceramic brake pads, and you're good to go.
