Armor All Wheel Protectant - Dust Free? Pictures!

I used this stuff before I bought some coatings, and it does work quite well. It will leave a white residue on the wheels that I had to go back over and remove once the wheels had dried.

The real problem with this stuff is that you have to apply it every 2 weeks or so, and at $7 per can, it can get expensive quick. In the long run, you're better off buying OptiCoat and applying it to the wheels after a thorough cleaning.

The Opti-Coat won't repel the brake dust the way the AA product does, but brake dust literally releases with a strong stream of water (not even a pressure washer). Pair that with some performance ceramic brake pads, and you're good to go.

Ugh, I forgot I cannot edit my original post here!

Anyway, this will be my last set of pictures - I think the concept has been proven. I will update later though to confirm that the product is only good between washings.

At this moment, I believe this to be a niche product only. Assuming that this will wash off immediately in the rain or when washing the car, this product is useful to those like me that are stuck with brakes that dust excessively. It absolutely will prevent the daily required wipe down which is really pretty nice. I will certainly be finishing the can.

Maybe this product would benefit you as well. It's a wheel cleaner that also adds a "nano" coating to the wheels - at the same time.

It says it repels brake dust as well. I thinks it's on BOGO now.

I saw that - Thanks. Based on some reviews it might keep things a little cleaner.

I wish someone had a follow-up review of Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Wheel Coating

If your looking for a wheel coating, OptiCoat is the winner hands down.

Well, the diamond wheel coating advertises that it "eliminates" brake dust buildup which opti-coat does not do. But I am guessing it simply makes it easier to clean only, similar to opti-coat.

I just wanted to follow-up on this thread to confirm that the product does not last following a wash. So this is a use-after-every-wash kind of product. But with the limitations in mind, it can be a very useful product for personal use when switching to a low dusting pad is not an option.

So, if you get a lot of brake dust and have grown tired of wiping your wheels daily to keep them clean, I would keep this product in mind - Even as an adjunct to opti-coat or wheel wax. I will certainly keep using it.

Nice write up. I am thinking I will use this on maybe lobg road trips or vacations where i will driving alot and not able to wash the car. Seems like u would need a case of it onn your DD ifbu wash once a week.
