So EC Details just sort-of reviewed this product, spray-on coating of the year, yada yada, has anyone else heard of this product and when it's going to be available? I kind of skimmed the video but he didn't seem to say anything about it. It was in non-production packaging, but it must be close if they let him "reveal" it. I guess it could be a SEMA release, we're only 3 months away from that...do they even go to SEMA? I guess that doesn't matter, they could still do a SEMA-week intro.

I'll be looking for it, I've heard of this guy, but I've got my go to YouTubers, don't feel a need for a new one. I'm not bashing your choice, just wanna clear that up

It's not really about the YouTuber, I'm interested in the product, it just seems his recent video about it is the first mention of it anywhere, so I wondered if anyone else had heard about it, who is more tuned in to the Armour buzz (rumor mill?). People seem to like their products.

Well, DFB is the guy to ask

I've used Hero twice and it's pretty damn good, have Amplify but just got it 2 days ago, bought it because I trust Deyon's word on it

Well if its from armour detail supply...damn it they tryin ta get my moneys again! Haha

Honestly though i have not tried everything from ADS, but every product i have tried, i have really enjoyed.

Adapt is the only thing that let me down a bit. It will leave dark streaks on dark paint if you try to use it as waterless wash. Im guessing cuz im trying to really wet the panel. Idk. I just save it for mainly post wash wheel, doorjam wipe downs. Also for interiors for a quick wipe.

ADS shield is out and already sold out! Damn it..

Wait--is that what it's called? Shield?

Apparently it's not sold out--it's not out yet. From the video comments:

"Thank you for testing "Phobic V5" Final version is actually called SHIELD - Spray Coating to follow the Armour Theme. We are waiting on packaging material, but this should release in 3-4 weeks in an introductory package. Final packaging will be 3 months out. Glad you loved it, that slickness hits instantly!"

I keep up with their social media, to the extent their ads come up in my Instagram feed, and they have yet to mention or advertise Shield. Makes sense that they have a place holder page up for a soon to be released product.

It reminds me a lot of SiRamik's Lustrous Plus Graphene Spray which never made it to the US. A spray on wipe off 1+ year coating. I imported a bottle and it's still performing, beading, and self cleaning very well over a year after I applied it. I only recently topped it with Amour Spray Sealant because while the beading was still good it was in need of a little boost like most coating do after a year or so.

A place holder may be the case idk. Its on thier site. It reads almost as a competitor to can coat evo but in a bottle just under half the size.

ADS has really came out of the gate hard with solid products. Im expecting nothing but the best. I will be getting a bottle.

ADS is a brand I've been watching. Their Ceramic Spray Sealant has coating like beading. I haven't tried anything from them yet. Their products are made in the US other than their coatings, which are made in Asia.

A lot of these YT guys hype a product up, rave about it, call it the GOAT, then a few days later start the process over with another product LOL.

It seems to be off to a great start but being here 12+ yrs I've got my core brands, Griot's Garage & Gyeon, Bilt-Hamber is up next because of Touchless and Auto-foam, plus Sufex

I'm open to trying new things, especially toppers and tire dressings

Just to be clear--since the title of this thread turned out to be a little confusing--I don't have a phobia about Armour Detail Supply products. The beta-test version of their new spray-on coating was Phobic (a reference to its hydrophobicity); it apparently has now been changed to Shield.

I attribute my Armourphobia to my distrust of S.H.I.E.L.D. and how they allowed themselves to be compromised by Hydra.

I'm thinking EC Details may have jumped the gun on this one since none of the usual YouTube posse has followed with a review of this product. Especially since he got the name wrong.

In the comments ADS says that the final packaging won't be available for 3 months, but they are releasing in introductory packaging in 3-4 weeks. Anyway, it just seems to me like EC misunderstood something when they sent him the "production version of Phobic" and he went ahead and made a video before ADS was really ready to announce.

That may be his last beta tested item from them

I wonder if Gyeon is making their ceramic based products. They said their coatings come from Asia and the other stuff is US made.

It will be available soon. It looks very promising. I was also sent a bottle of it and from speaking with DJ at ADS any tweaks to it will be minor from what was sent out. They have been testing it side by side with other spry coatings that fall into this category. ADS has hit a homerun with all of their products. If you have not tried them out then I definitely encourage you to try them.
