Armour Phobic

EDIT: I mean they could have named it "Armour Detail Manufacturing" or "Armour Detail Industries" or "Armour Detail Technologies" or just "Armour Detail" or just "Armour".

They should’ve just just went balls out and named it Armour All… And they came up with the name Shield out of thin air. Lol.

I think ADS has a gremlin on their tech team lol...the product name half changed

Based on the price it's on par with everything in its class. That said, this is a straight up paint coating, like my Gyeon Q2 Pure EVO but in spray form

No it is not in same class as pure evo. Phobic is concidered a coating lite. Quartz spray coating with 25% solids.

I dont know what percent solids pure evo has. For comparison regular ADS quarts is a 66% solids coating.

On a personal note in my opinion, which might not mean much to ya lol...gyeon pure evo has nothing on ADS quartz.

Haha.

Rememeber that this is my opinion so take it for what its worth.

Both are great coatings. Ive found over time trying different coatings that i prefer slickness, which Ads quartz gives me that over pure evo which is more grabby compared to can coat evo. I feel that slickness from ads quartz from the initial coating wipe off, to everytime i wash.

Both give a the paint a wonderful look, i feel that ads quartz gives a more crisp glass like appearance compared to pure evo's candy gloss. Not a drastic difference mindyou, but one i noticed. This is again a personal preference.

I have to give water behavior win to ads quartz. It has that water behavour thats more like what you get from mohs evo.

So in the end, if you are like me in that you may find yourself still missing "something" from the current coating that your vehcile is wearing, and are open to trying a different coating, then i say give ads quartz a try.

If not, then do like mike phillips says, find some you like..use it and use it often.

Thank you!

I forgot the other Gyeon coating I was going to chose but watching reviews, I settled on Pure EVO over the other one.

My coating will be 2 yrs old next month and I've got enough to do my car again and I will, next month

How was the application?

That's it, thank you! I've beaten my Pure EVO up with many pre-washes with Bilt-Hamber twins and well over 100+ touch-free washes and it's held up great, although I've topped it a "few times"

Easy. It sweats similar to your mohs evo. It is not a wipe on wipe right off like mohs evo does for me though. For my conditions i usually wait 30-60 seconds then wipeoff. So i dont do multiple panels at a time.

You dont need much. For me, ive learned to stop laying one layer coatings on heavy. Lighter amount, enough to get a reaction on the surface( thanks to forum member eric).less excess to wipeoff, less chance of high spots/pushing around the excess coating.

Do you think it's bad now

The general rule of thumb is if you see "floaters" within the bottle, it should be binned. Personally, I would strongly hesitate using an open bottle of coating that old.

I have Pure EVO on my Ranger and Jaguar, it's a great coating from a color enhancement point of view. But I too like slickness, so if I was choosing tomorrow, it would be either Gyeon Mohs EVO or one of the ADS coatings.

So how long does an opened bottle of coating last? I ask because I put a ceramic coating on my KN wheels last fall before moving them to the basement and it was over 2 yrs old, can't remember which coating it was

I'm not doubting your advice here guys but how long does it last?
