Hey y'all.
We're a few weeks away from our "PA Detailing Day" where my Mustang will be undergoing the awesome process of having the paint properly corrected and sealed. Until then, my goal is to essentially keep the car as clean as possible.
Unfortunately, I do live in an apartment complex where regular washes are forbidden. So it'll be waterless or rinseless washes only for me right now.
That said, I'd like to outline the process I plan to follow over the next couple of weekends and get everyone's input.
My goal is to take the car to the local DIY wash and use only what I currently have on hand. I will be picking up other supplies after our Detailing Day, but for now I need to keep costs down.
Let me know if this order looks right. I am guessing this is several hours of work.
- Clean, degrease and dry engine bay
- Spray down wheels with water
- IronX wheels
- Rinse wheels
- Spray the wheels with Wolfgang or Optimum Power Clean, scrub with wheel brush
- Rinse wheels
- Pressure wash the car - water only

- Dry wheels with dedicated MF wheel towels
- Wash the car with Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere
- Seal the wheels with CG Wheel Guard
- Apply tire dressing
