if the Family wasnt coming along, i would take you up on that offer, but i dont think the wife would like that idea, but my 4 year might.

That's not too far away from me.

I can be there Friday evening and until 4pm on Saturday.

What times were you looking for?

Hi Chris,

I have 8 guys already signed up to be part of the team but if you want to help out then we can spread the work out plus we go back about 10 years now in the forum world.

We'll be looking for our demo car and willing car owner on Friday.
Setting up probably early Saturday morning, by early I mean around 8:00am.

I'll plan on having a GTG somewhere Friday night for anyone that is in town and hopefully a Breakfast GTG early on Saturday morning, possible at a iHop or something like that maybe just our hotel.

:)

Demo Car

I have know idea what we're going to have for a car but since this is for TV the goal is to find,

  • Something black or a dark color.
  • Something with very easy to see swirls on the hood and trunk lid - Rotary Buffer Holograms are preferred.
  • Something with a large, flat hood a car from the 1960's to 1970's tends to meet this goal.
  • And of course, an owner willing to let us "touch" their toy.

I wish I had some contacts for the local hotrod clubs it would be good to be able to get the message out ahead of time so anyone with a car that fits the above description would be aware and ready to go...

Would have loved to have been able to get the change to have taken part of this, maybe next time, have fun and a great time will be looking forawrd to pics and video or watching on My Classic Car. :props:

If my dad's car had more swirls I'd trailer it down. It just got repainted last year and we picked it up in October. Black 66 gto lots of rotary holograms I need to fix.

Sounds like a perfect candidate car. Perfect color, perfect hood and trunk lid for capturing defects and the perfect defects to show being removed....

:)

If anyone has a car trailer let me know I'll bring it down. I'd have to get something to haul it with

Is anyone staying at the motel 6? I was looking at reviews and the motel 6 got better reviews online.

Gosh I hate this computer...it's been giving me fits for two weeks...which is why I've missed this thread. Would have loved to have gotten in on this thread and volunteered early since this event is almost in my backdoor.

Sounds like a ton of fun! You all have a great time and be safe:)

Too far to drive it?

Just to comment...

In my life I've learned not to force things, by this I mean things in life should kind of fall into place, when they do it's because it was meant to be.

As soon as you have to start working at making something happen like in working hard at it or forcing it... then it probably wasn't meant to be in the first place.

I'd love to have a swirled out black GTO for the project car, especially if the "My Classic Car" camera crew can get some really good before shots of the swirls in the paint.

The before video is the most important video because the after video doesn't mean a thing without the before.

So while I really appreciate you wanting to bring the GTO to the show if you have to get a tow rig and a trailer then you're starting to have to "work" at it.

From years/decades of working at car shows, I'm confident we can find a swirled out dark colored car.
