Autogeek Mustang Roll Call ?

So, StangFan25, what did you do to up your HP on the V6?

Hi Mitch.

The first thing I did was swap out the stock CAI(cold air intake) with an Airaid CAI. Next was purchase a Bama Tuner to have my engine custom tuned for each mod I make to my car, to take advantage of every hp. Put on Ford Racing exhaust, purchased 18" tires and wheels, Koni shocks, BBK 73mm throttle body, Ford racing springs(lowered car 1.5").

Next I plan to swap gears for Ford Racing 3.73 for better take offs, and BBK ceramic headers. I think that would be about all I will do, except putting on a California Special spoiler.

I've done other things for appearance but this is about it for gains. I have not been on a dyno yet to check what my gains have been but based on similarly modded mustangs, its pretty decent and I can definitely feel it. The sound is much better too!

Very noticeable difference when you go to 3.73s - is stock is 3.31? I almost when 4.10s, stock is 3.55 - but still in the air whether or not I should add a Whipple :props:

GT500 spoiler would look better imo then a CS spoiler :dblthumb2:

Unfortunately stock for me is 2.73  good news is the upgrade will be that much better! From what I've heard and read, you made the better choice not going with 4.10, not much of a difference in gain but the MPG is pretty bad.

I really like the CS, I'm just a big fan of the pedestal style!

Dam 2.73 wow!!! You're gonna love 3.73s

410s would be perfect if I weren't going to supercharge. MPG is bad anyway for me, I have a 5 minute commute to work - all stop n go lol

Synergy update - amazing gloss buddy!

Supercharger, I'm jealous.

Hmmm I might have to get my hands on a pot of synergy to compare to souveran. Thanks for the update!

Yeah wait till u can catch it on sale. If u were closer I'd surely let u try it

My old 98 it's been sold and driving around The Chicagoland region. And pick up a 03 DSG V6 for my son and I to toy around with.

Previous - 1996 Laser Red GT (should have bought the '95 GT Convertible instead, as the '96 did not impress)

Current - 1998 Cobra with upgraded suspension, JLT CAI, MSD Ignition, etc. I daily drive the car in the warmer months, and now have over 150,000 miles on it - still love the car (and is the primary reason I joined this forum).

Will be Installing a new clutch ('03 Cobra), gears (4.10s), adding a short runner intake and IMRC deletes, as well as upgrading ignition to Screamin Demon ignition coils, Livewires and a new custom tune in the next few weeks once everything arrives. Hoping for 300+ RWHP naturally aspirated.

Yeah I used to have the 2:73 in my fox, could hit 80 mph in second gear. 1st gear was an awesome burn out gear too! But I switched to 3:73 and never looked back. Now its a blast just rowing through them gears, and 3rd gear is a rocket.:hotrod2:

I don't have a current one, but this one is a spiriting image of my car...View attachment 27596

This is our 96 SVT Cobra before the suspension mods I added in the fall. It has a BAMA 93 race tune, K&N CAI, B&M short shift kit, off road X pipe, cat deletes, Flowmaster cat back system, Ford 17x9 95 Cobra R wheels, Hawk Red pads, billett pedal set, H&R 1.5" lowering springs, Bilstien Struts & Shocks, Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber Plates, Golden West suspensions full length sub frame connectors, a Silverhorse Racing black billett fuel door, Cobra floor matts, replaced the pony with a Cobra emblem, and a 9" antenna.

Since it may be collectible some day, I have all of the original parts in storage.

The previous owner pampered it, driving and average of 1500 miles per year, never seen rain, stored in a heated garage. When we found it, even though I swore I'd never buy a black car again, we had to buy it. Had 37K when we bought it 3 years ago, just turned 48K. Not a DD, it's a sunny day only fun car for us.

The 2 above pictures are from a Maguiar's seminar I was lucky to attend. Even better they used my car as the demo car, so I got a free correction on my hood! The Maguiar's rep was great, I got some free swag for participating.

Looks like ours are almost twins. Got to get back to bed, we are in an Armed Forces Day parade at 10 am this morning.

Nice! I've kept all of the original parts as well. I daily drive mine in the warmer months.

Well, I've decided that I am going to paint my own Cobra, panel by panel. So, I am once again going to get real intimate with my Cobra, just as I did when I rebuilt the motor.
