Bump! Where is all the cars? :hungry:

...lol....I was thinking the same thing.....and hoping nobody was going to post, that way I could certainly win...lol........or everybody is waiting on your post to see what we are up against......kinda like playing Poker.

Mine is scheduled for Tuesday, July 27th. So my post will be at deadline.

I'm actually working on my mentors car right now that he's owned since he was 14! It doesn't require a crazy amount of correction (2 maybe 3 step) but should make for a good entry. Should have it done next week when I get back in town. ;)

Oh come on Chad, take it easy on the boys!! After winning the SEMA detail contest last year, I think I'll probably sit this one out. However I am picking up another S197 Black Mustang (paint is hammered) this weekend. Maybe I'll post it just for fun:props:

I thought I was, but I still want to submit something. :)

Do you think the weekend enthusiasts like myself would even have a chance against these Pro's? :surrender: :D

Hobbies…All my 35 years of life have been filled with them. Most of them have come and gone with few exceptions. I’ve had collections of baseball cards, shot glasses, coins, knives, sharks teeth, even cardboard bar coasters! The desire to dive into something headfirst is always strong initially. But as always, I’d get bored with it and move on desperately seeking the next idea to satisfy my interests.
One thing that always stuck with me though was my interests in cars. Why? Well, I can certainly get tired of a car but I still HAVE to drive. We all know and love the feeling we get inside when we sign the papers and drive off the lot in a ‘new’ automobile. Shortly after, we find ourselves deep in thought on how best to care for it. Up until the winter of 2007, that meant heading to the local box store and picking up a fresh stash of suds-n-sponges. One year for Christmas, I remember being so excited when I ripped open my 10 inch orbital buffer, complete with extra wool and terry bonnets!
In 2007, I sat down at my computer in typed in ‘car care’. A single click later and I find myself completely entranced in car care euphoria. Everything I could ever dream of wanting to know about how to take care of my new car was right there in front of me. Have I found my new hobby? You betcha!
I don’t do a whole lot of Show and Shines. I take some before and afters but don’t do many write-ups. I love opening my PBMA boxes and adding to my collection and I love learning new things from the pros and amateurs alike. Detailing cars is something I’m sure to love forever. Thanks Autogeek! Here are some of my “memories”:
My first full detail - A two step polish with my new PC7424. The customer (co-worker) paid me by paying for my first ever order from Autotgeek! At the end of day, I wasn’t sure I was cut out for this new hobby. I was exhausted.

Whoa! A few details under my belt and I start honing my skills for a man in the auction business. He would buy cars from Orlando and sell them.

Is this P21S wheel gel worth the hype? I'd say YES!

Ok, what’s all the buzz about this Optimum stuff? Gotta try it out! How could products be so affordable, easy to use and look so darn good?

yup! This stuff always deserves a place on the shelf.

At some point, I wanted to get a hold of a nasty engine bay and see how it would turn out. My friend sacrificed his old 4Runner.

My neighbors used to stare and scratch their head. Later they’d ask why I was using a leaf blower, why I pre-rinsed for so darn long, and what the heck am I using two buckets for???
Take a look for yourself neighbor.

Hmmmm….looks like my neighbors have taken an interest in detailing. They're too busy themselves to worry about me. Heck, even my kids drop their wii controller to come join the fun!

WOW! Looks like they’re truck doesn’t need repainting afterall.

My garage is almost always open during the day. The same neighbors that used to give me funny looks are always welcome to come grab something off the shelf....and trust me they do.

Here is my official entry into the Autogeek Show N Shine.

As per Matt's request in his earlier post I just created a separate thread with my write up so as not to clutter up this thread with too many pictures and descriptions.

Here is the link to my entry/writeup.

2002 Nissan Sentra Extreme Makeover

Wow! That was awesome Dub! Really enjoyed the well written story and pics to go with it! :dblthumb2:

I'm in. But i hope i can make it in time. It keeps on raining lately. It rained non-stop yesterday. I already have the perfect test-subject..a dark blue mazda. :)

Well, it's VERY ODD here in Deep South Texas. This year, we get tropical storms, possible tropical depression watches, rain, rain again, Floods in Mexico flooding some of our areas in the Valley, and on and on and on......... lol Up to 40/50% chance of rain for the next 5 days. MOSQUITOS EVERYWHERE!!! ugh

Oh yeah, here is a GOOD NOTE. It looks like we will not hit 100° F this summer. Now THAT is awsome!!

Now, I have an '05 Lexus RX 350, can I ever detail a different Lexus on a regular basis besides the RX? LOL, that has many issues on it. I've taken before pics this morning and will finish the inside tonight. The exterior will be done tomorrow, as long as it does not rain. Oh yeah, remember this Lexus??:

Well, I have her husbands Lexus and this one is worse. he he he.... Maybe I will be able to sell some Xpel Clear Bra products to them. You will see why when I post the pics tomorrow or Monday. :D  :awesome:

These are the first pictures I think I've posted so I hope all works well. I'm just a hobbiest but many of the neighbors think I'm a pro. I'm far from it and thanks to this place, I've learned a lot and spent a lot of money. But taking car of the family cars gives me a lot of pleasure.

Anyway, here are some pictures of my wife's Honda Civic. She really didn't want to stand around and take pictures of me cleaning her car, so I only have a few. Hope you enjoy.

I use DP Wheel Cleaner for the wheels. I spray it on a cool, wet, wheel and let it dwell for 30 seconds or so. Then I use my Boars Hair Brush to agitate the cleaner followed by the Daytona Speed Wheel Brush. A quick rinse and the wheels are spotless.

I used some WG Auto Bathe using the two bucket method. After sheeting the water I use the Guzzler MF Towel.

The next morning I put some Liquid Souveran Wax on the Civic, and it really looks good on a black car.

After a few minutes, I wipe off the wax using Cobra Deluxe Jr MF Towel. I really like the smaller 16"x16" sizes as I can fold them up into fourths and they fit your hand perfectly.

The final thing I did was to wax the wheels with some DP Wheel Glaze and some Opti-bond Tire Gel for the tires.

Here are a few pictures of the final product. I hope you enjoyed my pictures.

The first post is not very clear and it seems as if people are posting show and shines. Can we post a show and shine if it was posted and the detail completed this month?
