I'm gonna b e purchasing one of these soon. I just don't know which one to buy. Any advice? Is the hot rod just a spot remover?

Thanks

The Hot Rod Hot Spotter is an Extractor. It gets very hot in about 12 minutes, max temp 207. It works great! I have no experience with the Mytee!
With my extractor and Steamer, the process speed is way up ,and alot better.

the mytee lite ii is 3 galons capasity the instructions says that you have to (pre-heat) the water (fill in with hot water). I follow this and works great. If you dont fill in with hot water is harder for the integrated heater to heat 3 gallons when you need it fast to extract. And the chances are that the first running water came hot and as the flows continue cools down because the heater dont have time to heat it.

totally agree that it works best with hot water put into it first. cleans really well

It would be nice to see the "PSI" and "Water Lift" specs of each in a side by side comparison. ;)

I can't see heating time really being a issue if you plan your time accordingly.

Hmm, i just dont wanna spend $800 on a machine when i can spend $675 and get the same results.

I used the Mytee Lite II for years and loved it :dblthumb2: Never used the Hot Rod. 3 Gallons is never needed with one vehicle though. Good luck on your decision.

does the mytee lite take out all of the stains? i have never used an extractor before

I've been using the Mytee Lite II for about 2 years now, and it works great. It gets hot really quick...which I really like. The 2 gallon tank empties pretty quick IMO.

I also happen to have the Aztec. But, I've yet to use it cause it's for my mobile van which will be done in just a few days. I'll try to remember to come back to this thread and let you know how it is in comparison.

I already don't like the idea of waiting to the tank to heat up. But, once you get used to it and plan ahead...I don't see it mattering much. I'm guessing they'll be pretty equal in performance. But, I can't say for sure.

During the 12 minute heat up time (which really isn't long at all) you can spend doing an APC wipedown. Or vacuuming.

With any really bad stain you want to pre hit the stain with your choice of stain removers.... agitate, blot, then extract.... this has worked well for me over the years. Only going over it with an extractor will not get out tough stains.

I understand that, but do you go over the stain r floor mat with just hot water and let that sit for a minute. or do you just spray the water and vacuum it right up? a stupid question but why not ask right

You could hit it with hot water and let it sit for a couple minutes - shouldn't hurt as long as you dont over saturate.....
