Ok, so as I posted last night, I did a RW wash with Uber yesterday morning then applied the BM. My LSP is Collinite 476 last applied August 3rd. (maintenance coat)

Here are my early observations:

Smells awesome (tangerine?)

Applies and wipes off like a dream.

Paint seems pretty slick.

But...... To me, the gloss is less than when I use my beloved DG Aquawax.

Could it be the 476? My paint color? A combo of both?

I will say that BM is a solid product, and this is certainly NOT a knock on it.

My go to is 845 followed by BM, and i haven't had any issues with this combo on all colors. Could be the 476 even though i always thought 845 is the liquid form of 476

BM gloss is a visually superficial beast, it’s akin to OG paint sealants and coatings which provided a plastic-wrapped look.

It doesn’t darken the paint like DG aquawax and many others, which is what you might be observing.

Gloss and slickness it certainly has.

I agreed in a thread quite some time ago that BM doesn’t create spectacular gloss, and that DG AW was one that is better. I had applied over a mix of LSPs at that time. I’ve since tried it on my un-corrected but coated new-to-me car and I do think perhaps BM gloss comes out more on top of coatings... based on that observation and reading the experiences of others.

And no shame in having less perceived gloss than DG AW, which is a top notch spray for a long time.

If you’re after BM slickness and ease of application along with the visual characteristics of aquawax, try NV Nova Boost.

•Something to consider:
-Perhaps the glossiness, provided by Wolfgang’s
Über RW’s super-slippery German polymers, may
have been an impediment for allowing/having the
full amount of glossiness—that Bead Maker’s poly-
mers may provide—come to the fore?

I have and used Bead Maker and I have DG Aquawax. I prefer Aquawax over Bead Maker. BM is still a great product and I will use it on occasion. I use the Aquawax more. But BM will stay in my detail arsenal for future use. I try many different products (not as often anymore) and donate them and never use that product again. Bead Maker is not one that I will donate...so again, it is a pretty decent product, IMO there are better.

What led you to prefer the DQ Aquawax over BM?

It's just my preference. BM is good but I have a little easier time using Aquawax. But again, BM is in my arsenal and will be used.

Beadmaker, out of the sun on a cool panel, is one of the most user friendly products I’ve ever tried. Does NOT streak/smear and is very slick. Great drying aid! The water behavior and durability is sub par, however.

That right there. I did my wife's black Taurus' hood with BM and BSD side by side, and the BSD side definitely showed more depth.
The BSD edged the BM in water behavior and beading, but not by much. BM is a good product and relegated to my older vehicles only because I want the enhanced water beading/ self cleaning qualities on the newer car.

I had to try BM because of all of the buzz going around about it. I like it, for sure.

But when it runs out, I will stay with my old buddy DG Aquawax. (Hope he's not mad at me.:laughing:)
