Can anyone recommend a dedicated clay lube that can be purchased by the gallon? Looking for something not overly expensive but something that is slick and effective.

Been using the ONR for a while, and while it is okay, I know there are better products for this.

I plan on buying the speedy prep towel and looking for good lube for it.

Luber per what you want
Try out uww+ at clay ratio or qd ratio

CG Luber is a good one and isn't too expensive.

I use HD Touch as a QD/Lube. It's great!

Gary Dean's infinite use detail juice. A gallon of this stuff makes over 50 gallons.

Have you compared ONR to ONRWW as a lube? As SONIC suggested "WW" is an option. It's certainly slicker than ONR and can actually be mixed a bit less than QD ratios for lube.

I absolutely LOVE Ultima Waterless Wash Plus Concentrate to make my detail spray. It is very good as a clay lube (much better than ONR in my opinion) and has so many uses!

I usually use CG Luber, but I wanted to try the Nanoskin Glide, AG sells it for 12.99 a bottle that will make a gal. Just have to have the the gal container and spray bottle already, but those are cheap so even if you dont it is a great price. I hope it goes in BOGO, then ill pickup as many as i can.

I started with CG Luber and really liked it. I have since moved to FK425 because I use it for other things.

Can I ask, what exactly isn't the ONR doing for you? I use DP Rinseless for this, I believe they're the same thing minus smell, and can't tell a difference from any QD or anything else I've used. So it comes down to price and it's right with this product for me. Just something to think about.

It's alright I guess. I have heard on multiple occasions from detailers that a dedicated clay lube is far slicker than using the ONR at the clay lube dilution.

Is the UWW+ really that much better than ONR? I am looking for the slickest thing possible and don't care for waterless wash since I'll probably never use that.

I haven't tried it as clay lube yet, but UWW+ is extremely slick. I would think it would be quite effective for this

Keep in mind if its too slick it will keep the clay from grabbing the decontamination as well

Whichever way you go, come back and let us know your results please. A direct comparison would be nice.

I have used Megs Final Inspection for years, YEARS! But once I started using ONR I never had a problem. Then of course ONRWW is just an added 'slick' to where it was before.

What I noticed after using ONR was the clay feels different, cleaner? for longer. Clay stays more pliable. Perhaps its the chemistry? Either way it's so much cheaper than Final Inspection I use more of it along the way, like to wash and kneed the clay especially.
