Hi All,

This is my Bug that I got a few years ago.
It had been reprinted with the red color and is a base/clear coat respray.

The Bug sat in the sun for a few years before I got it.

I washed it and then clayed it.
Then I used a Flex random orbital polisher with;
Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover.
Pinnacle Finishing Polish.
Pinnacle Wax

I used stoner window cleaner and 0000 steel wool to clean the glass.

I used steel wool and chrome polish to clean the rust off the wheels, not shown, and then chrome polish with a rag.

Here are some before and after pictures, I was surprised how much better the bug looked when I was done.

Yea, some are with flash and some are not, but you can still see the difference.
The fender shown was actually rough to the touch before being polished.

It's ashamed how the sun rays dimmed that paintwork though with your beautiful work you put life back into that canvas(VW)....Excellent job well done keep it up

I call BS!

Clearly that's two different cars. One is orange and the other bug is red. Nice try though

:D

Thanks for the nice comments.

My photoshop skills were off the day I doctored those, haha.

My wife said it looks brand new to her when she first saw it and I didn't expect to see results like I ended up with either.

Here's a link to more before and after pictures, and you can see it is the same Bug :).

What a stunning difference in the before and after shots! :props:

I'm with everyone else on this one. What a difference. Amazing.

There's a bug just like this parked close to where I live. It's a very dull orange. I wish I could get my hands on it, I think it's suppose to be red.

Thanks again for the nice comments.

That was the 3rd car I did with the flex. The other two cars turned out well too, one is a 1965 VW Notchback with original paint and a 2013 Black Volvo that I removed the swirls from.
I did use the flex to wax a Sea Blue 65 VW Bug that was the family car I rode in as a kid that my parents bought new, and that turned out well too.

There is a red Toyota pickup parked up our street too with very cloudy paint, I so want to go hit that with the flex and some polish just to see the difference! Haha.

It's a lot of work but I really enjoy cleaning up the pain on my cars and I never thought it would turn out so well.

As I would watch those TV segments as the Mike guy polished the cars I would think "yea, it's that easy, right" but it kind if is if you follow some basic guidelines.

Wait, that's the same paint, LOL! Absolutely amazing turnaround right there and if there were an award on AG for best turnaround of the year, this would be a serious contender:props:

BTW, I'm sure your into Bugs, could you PM me some info on where to get hi-po parts and restro parts, my buddy in FLA has a BUG convertable that's been in his family forever and he's looking to spruce it up a bit, thanks inadvance!
