Best Brand Top to Bottom

I may try some 3D products. In particular, the 3D Yellow Degreaser for wheels and Pre-Soak for body during winter. I recently came across two videos of their glass bottle coating. Looked a lot better than it did in Sandro's video. It was going very strong at 22 months.

I am really looking hard at the Pre-Soak nano pail and pump dispenser as well as the car soap nano pail

I don't see many honest meaningful reviews of 3D products so if you get the products you are talking about please let us know what you think

I definitely will. I like they are made here in the U.S. I was never one to care about that but I now more than ever I am making more of an effort when possible. Their products also seem to be a bit more Eco friendly.

I want to order the Pre-Soak for winter and when my truck gets dirty from off-road use, the Yellow Degreaser for Wheels (Gyeon Tire is good but it's expensive for a 500ml bottle) and Waterless Wash for a QD and maybe interior.

I saw two recent videos of the glass bottle coating and it looked really good. Night and day difference from Sandro's review.

I really like 3d products, i use quite a bit of theirs. I like pre soak and super soap. I like that it cleans well, is super concentraited, made in usa and all in house.

Just an overall under reported brand name in my eyes.

Honestly i have not tried as many different brand products as most of you folks on here have so my word might not hold much value. But give it a shot and i look forward to anybodys feedback who trys it out.

Waterless Wash for a QD and maybe interior.

I like the waterless wash, but a word from experience... it may leave interior a little slick.

Only time i ever used it on interior was i used a quick spritz one time on a microfiber to just dust off the weathertechs in my truck...i didnt know they were slippery at all until my wife hopped in b4 me in heels and she was like w t f did you use different on the foor mats cuz they are slippery

That is why I moved from both of those to Optimum Power Clean. It's pretty expensive, but It's also very effective. Nowhere near as "hot" as D101 or MultiX. Fumes aren't as intense either.

We use D101 and MultiX at work though. One of our techs burned plastic a few times with it.

Old post.

That's interesting..i find multi-x relatively mild with fumes compared to something like purple power or spray nine. I have a bottle of koch chemie green star now and that is very mild in smell. For the price it's way more value then multix if it works at 10%/vol.

About Power Clean from Dr G - "Power Clean is a soap/surfactant dissolved in water and there is only a small amount of solvent. This was in response to pregnant customer asking if solvents in Power Clean were any danger to her baby"

Old post, but after searching no mention of Gtechniq. I have used a lot of brands and Gtechniq has to be my favorite overall lineup. They may not have the best product in every category, but they do have a very solid stable of products. More importantly they are mostly easy to work with to get great results.

I am amending my choices from PA & CP to CP & Megs. I still love PA but--
Megs's line is just so big , broad & good.
PA is small and precise-- & good

If you don't have at least one Meg's product in your arsenal, you aren't playing the game right.

I feel the same about PA…. Sometimes you just gotta treat your baby.

Speaking of Megs, where would you rank Meguiar's and Griot's if they had a true high solids coating? I know Griot's is working on one. Megs has the Hybrid Paint Coating, which is fantastic and every bit as good as Can Coat (maybe even better due to ease of use). Meguiar's has a lot of very good products. I was thinking the other day how much better of a value their Quik Interior Detailer is compared to Gyeon's ID.

A gallon of Megs Quik is about $28. 1000ml (34oz) of Gyeon is about the same. Megs performs every bit as well (alcohol based/quick flashing) and even leaves some UV protection behind. Huge value advantage for Megs.

I don't think a coating offering would change Meguiar's too much. It would have to be a game changer. Something that lasts for a century, and has almost microscopic beads, that won't fade until the end of a century. Easy to apply and wipe off, ect, etc, etc.

I can't comment on Griot's (not famaliar with their line), but the same point probably applies.

I would say though that if they offered a coating, they'd have a product line that could match anyone.

Meg's Quik Detailer is great, often my first choice for a "dusting" wipedown, and is an amazing value as you stated

Meg's has other standout products too and I have or will have several in different categories as I piece my arsenal back together

However

Meg's has TOO MANY products and TOO MANY overlapping lines and it can make even thinking about buying Meg's painful

It's not as simple as "get their professional line" either as they have several professional lines and some of the standouts are in one of their OTC lines, Quik Detailer being a prime example

I don't think I ever walked in to a store and perused the Meg's section to assist in selecting a product

I heard one of you guys talking up this or that Meg's product and I bought and tried the product in question and usually was satisfied

Their OTC catalog is 60 pages long, although a lot of it is fluff advertising

Their PROFESSIONAL catalog is 40 pages long, again lots of fluff

That's a lot to wade through, although I am sure their are folks out there who absolutely love to dive deep and immerse themselves in all the hype and chatter

Their are other lines I stay away from (CG) largely because of the "we have 27 shampoos" mindset

I have said this before, if Meg's didn't have all the competing and conflicting lines of products think of how much less their products would cost because they didn't have to have 10 different shapes and colors of bottles for one niche of product

That's my rant for today

Carry on and as always, YMMV

I completely agree. Way too many overlapping products.

So i may get some push back about my way of thinking now but it is what it is...my opinion. Its not ment to be rude twards others.

Doesnt matter if they had the best coating out there it wouldnt change a thing. Because to me they are products for the average "consumer" person. Even megs pro line has way to many chioces. It just deters me from even looking. I cant tell you the last time i bought a detailing product off a autoparts store or big box store shelf. Not that i look down apon it..i just now know that there is better out there for damn close to the same price.

Also they are not geared twards the detailers or the geeks who care about the proper processes and techinques, and quality products. To me its also starting to be more than just whats in the bottle. What is the company about, how they market or present them selves so to speak.

I prefer to order my products from a detailing website or go to a detailing brick and motar store, than to be abke to pick it off the shelf of a big box store or local auto parts store.
