Speaking of Megs, where would you rank Meguiar's and Griot's if they had a true high solids coating? I know Griot's is working on one. Megs has the Hybrid Paint Coating, which is fantastic and every bit as good as Can Coat (maybe even better due to ease of use). Meguiar's has a lot of very good products. I was thinking the other day how much better of a value their Quik Interior Detailer is compared to Gyeon's ID.
A gallon of Megs Quik is about $28. 1000ml (34oz) of Gyeon is about the same. Megs performs every bit as well (alcohol based/quick flashing) and even leaves some UV protection behind. Huge value advantage for Megs.
Meg's Quik Detailer is great, often my first choice for a "dusting" wipedown, and is an amazing value as you stated
Meg's has other standout products too and I have or will have several in different categories as I piece my arsenal back together
However
Meg's has TOO MANY products and TOO MANY overlapping lines and it can make even thinking about buying Meg's painful
It's not as simple as "get their professional line" either as they have several professional lines and some of the standouts are in one of their OTC lines, Quik Detailer being a prime example
I don't think I ever walked in to a store and perused the Meg's section to assist in selecting a product
I heard one of you guys talking up this or that Meg's product and I bought and tried the product in question and usually was satisfied
Their OTC catalog is 60 pages long, although a lot of it is fluff advertising
Their PROFESSIONAL catalog is 40 pages long, again lots of fluff
That's a lot to wade through, although I am sure their are folks out there who absolutely love to dive deep and immerse themselves in all the hype and chatter
Their are other lines I stay away from (CG) largely because of the "we have 27 shampoos" mindset
I have said this before, if Meg's didn't have all the competing and conflicting lines of products think of how much less their products would cost because they didn't have to have 10 different shapes and colors of bottles for one niche of product
That's my rant for today
Carry on and as always, YMMV
