Best coating for black car???

I am looking for a coating for a Black CLS63, any suggestions? looking for the wettest shine and great beading and durability? 22ple? Cquartz? Opti coat? Anything else?
 
Easy to apply? I had the gtechniq combo (c1+ exo2) on another car but if you miss the slightest amount in wiping it streaks and a pain in the **** to remove.

Fairly easy to apply, you need (or is suggested) that you use their primer first. Do a google image search for modesta bc-05 and see if the images of the cars are what you are looking for.
 
I'm sure Travis or Andre will get in on this but since they haven't yet, look at Polish Angel Cosmic. I believe Andre did a MB E63 in black with it and it was unreal.

Cosmic can also be color-matched to your vehicles specific color code. :xyxthumbs:
 
CQuartz UK would be great and easy to DIY. Next to that would be Modesta BC-05. Opti-Coat is fantastic too. A lot depends on the actual prep work.

Don't know how many times I've read on this sight that the shine is created by the act of polishing, the LSP is there to lock it in and protect it. Why is it that coatings should be considered somehow different in their use as an LSP? It's like these coatings are supposed to be some new magic topping to cure all woes.

That pic by pureshine of the black vehicle with opti coat is phenomenal. And OC gets knocked about for a muted or dull shine around here. Poppycock, I say!

My humble opinion:

Get your shine on by the act of polishing and choose your coating based on price, perceived slickness, durability, thickness, ease of application, or whatever other next tier concern-of-importance is to you.

Finest is visibly better. But if you are not certified, you cannot get it. In which case I recommend using UK. It is very thick and will provide a very visible layer over the clear.

Some coatings will absolutely add gloss and it is very noticeable. I have been using my car as a test dummy and I can say that most of the SiO2 based coatings do fill and do increase gloss. But on a surface that is perfectly prepped and jeweled, most coatings look very similar next to each other. It's odd how much OC gets knocked around here as I find it to be my favorite coating of them all. Cannot beat the durability.
 
The "best" 'Coating' for a black car would be the same 'Coating' as for any other color of car:
Either one of Optimum's 'Coatings'.

Unless the black car has a "single-stage" paint system.

Migliore Strata Coating looks just insane on black. Followed by 22PLE, CQuartz Finest, and Opti-Coat. I have not tried Modesta so I cannot say.
 
Any temperature restrictions for opti coat or modest? Do you use the primer first or just an IPA wipedown? the primer is almost as much as the coating over $200

If you use the primer no IPA wipe down is need and it should be above 60 degrees. Not sure if opti-coat is send the primer with the 2.0 version? If they are not sending just do an IPA wipe down.
