I know there is probably no "Perfect" product out there for this, but this year I don't want to go through both the Compound and then Polish steps. I'm hoping to simplify it down to 1 step.

I am hoping to find the best product that will provide a good cut, but Finish out better than the other products out there.

im not worried about cost here, this will be on my own car.

Some products I've noticed out there have been:

FG 400
Wolfgang Uber compound

But I'm open to whatever you guys suggest.

Thanku greatly, and Happy hump day to all!

Very impressed with Griots Garage Fast Cut Compound. I've gotten good results with Griots MF cutting pad and FCC. On a light colored car or one that responds well to FCC I believe one step is very doable.

FG400 is great too. I'm always blown away how good both FG400 and FCC look without a second step.

I have some of this, haven't had an opportunity to use it yet. I know GSKR loves this stuff too. I need a dark car to try it on.

I used it on my girlfriend's black Mercedes E350. Rupes MKII 15mm with Lake Country Thin Pro White pad. Delicious results. I guess I used CarPro Eraser and McKee's Paint Coating afterwards.

It all depends on how much cut you need. I've been happy with a single step of HC400, but if the paint is soft and I can get the results I want with something less aggressive, then I go that route.

If you just want to generically grab something with good cut and finish, then yes...Menz or comparable products like wolfgang and jescar.

BOSS Fast Correcting Cream has worked really well as a one step the few times I've gotten to use it. I haven't tried it on soft paint yet.

What vehicle are you working on?

I thought you used to have a Challenger as your avatar. Maybe not.

m100, Boss Correcting Cream, and Scholl Concepts S20 Black

Add Blackfire SRC Compound to the list. It cuts more like an aggressive swirl remover, but finishes fantastic.

You'll need a product that cut severe swirls, but with a good finishing ability. Ok. But it will be dependant of paint system, polisher and pad choice, and polishing technique. Too many variables.
Still, Fg400, Griots Fcc, Sonax Cutmax, m100, but probably I would stick to m101.

No, not a challenger. I own a Tan Honda CR-V.

I have Megs Yellow Polishing pads, and Megs Burgundy pads currently. And I use the HF DA. I use a Megs 5" backing plate.

"Generically"? I may have understood this wrong. Are FG400 and WG Uber compound considered "Generic" products?

Is sonax similar to the Rupes UHS? That being able to cut and finish out w/o wax as lsp?

What pad do you like to use the src with? Have some sitting on the shelf. Thanks
