I just wanted to ask you fellow AGers what your favorite last step/jeweling polish and pad combo is? You know...that one last step right after using a heavier polish, and right before applying an LSP.

I have used both M205 and PO85RD with a gray LC pad to fantastic results. I thought WG Finishing Glaze was just ok... Menz Final Polish II was just ok too. I have yet to try PO106FA/FF. In fact, I haven't even tried M205 or PO85RD with a red or blue LC pad.

What's your guys' favorite polish/pad combo for that final swirl-free, mar-free jeweled look?

Paints react differently, that's why it's a good idea to test to one spot before tackling the entire car... that said, I've found the Menzerna finishing polishes to all work great on the widest range of paints...

:)

85RD and/or 106FF for me.

I've used both and I have never noticed a difference between these two in terms of the final finish that they give. Both are superb!

Now to jewel, you guys are using a pad that does not cut? like the ccs white or gray/black pad?

The white pad is a polishing pad and can be used, but the black or blue pad with 85rd will give you a better finish.

Thank you :):xyxthumbs: I am going to have a field day on my z06 when I get the time!! Hope the neighbors don't mind the sound of a buffer for several hours heheheIm the MAN

Post some pictures. A red Z06 polished to perfection will look awesome.:props:

I was using a flat gray LC pad with 85RD but the HT crimson has taken the place of the gray pad.

Thanks Cee... you know, I still haven't tried any other pad other than flat foam and LC CCS. Are those HydroTech pads any good?

085rd here ...

What pad do you use, Scott?

Hey Rob! Yeah you mentioned that to me over the phone... 106 being the same as 85. Maybe I should have taken that last batch of 106 from ya instead!!! hehe

I believe the CCS white LC pad still has some cut to it. It's a white polishing pad. I believe you will get a better finish with 85RD if you use a blue or gray or gold jeweling pad.

Thanks! not hi-jacking this thread by commenting like this, but I used a FLEX-sip/orange, IP/white nano/white last year and there wasn't a scratch on it! :) Pics will follow. I just need the time.:xyxthumbs:

I have 85rd, but rarely use it. WG FG(same cut a 106FA) does the job most of the time.

I have the WG twins and will switch up between the WG FG and 85rd depending on how the coin toss goes ;) My vette stays pretty swirl free, so what I did the last time was use the FG on a white pad followed by 85rd on a black.

from what I read (so far), 85RD has been a common staple... I should probably try to use my WG FG again. I haven't touched it in months. Almost same cut and finish as 85RD?

WG FG(made by menzerna) has a bit more cut than 85rd, and finishes almost as good. 85rd is the best jeweling polish, though.

Depends on the paint but PO85RD, 106fa, and Ultrafina all work well for me. Been using the Crimson pad lately, but again it will depend on the paint.

I'm a fan of PO85RD on a gray ccs pad using a DA. I have a crimson pad waiting to be tested with PO85RD. I know Corey likes the crimson, do you like it Rasky?

That take some getting used to since they are a much stiffer pad, but I've liked them so far. :props:

Richard... try the PO85RD on a gray ccs pad using Flex too. Results are spectacular.

Please describe this Crimson Pad... who makes it? AG sells it? What's the rating for cut for this pad?
