What is your opinion for the best one step product when full paint correction isn't possible?

Looking for cleaning, correcting or filling, and good protection.

D151 is way too thick and is a PITA to apply and remove.

One of the most overated products IMO.

M66 cuts darn well so its not like D151 is leaps and bounds in aggression over M66.

Whats your method of application? Are you buffing it or doing it by hand? I didnt think m66 was hard to remove but I got tons of splatter with it and I dont get splatter at all with other polishes. I agree with you it (d151) is thicker than other products but I feel it is a breeze to polish with and I think removal is a snap. Ill give you my m66 for your d151 haha:dblthumb2:

From my understanding M66 uses DAT and D151 uses SMAT. Not sure how their sealant abilities compare.

Ive never used M66, but i have used D151...and love it. I used it on a Megs 2.0 Polishing Pad and got a good 80% correction using the original PC. The swirls were not HORRIBLE but they were quite obvious...and it was on a dark blue lincoln...so the dark color showed the swirls really well. Mainly just RIDS were left...and i think they would come out with 105...or maybe a cutting pad and D151 would even take them out.

I havent tried D151 with a cutting pad yet...but with the polishing...it works in quite nice (i did get serious dusting but...im working in the very dry Az heat where even at night its still over 100 degrees...and it was also with a new pad which may have aided in the dusting) the shine is very good in my opinion and it was easy to remove in my experience. Again i was working in very hot and dry conditions...so im not discarding what others have said about not liking it or it being hard to remove....but ive had some good results with it and it is my go to AIO...thou personally, id apply a wax/sealant on top of it even thou it has one built in.

Hope this helps:props:

Very good thread yeebiz, thank you. :props:

No thank you guys for giving great answers:xyxthumbs:

So D151 seems to be pretty popular. How long does the protection last?

Was also looking at XMT 360. Any thoughts?

With my PC and a LC green pad.

I really hate how thick it is, its a PITA to get it out of the gallon and even out of some of my secondary bottles.

I am still playing with it though.

just did an old dakota pick up with 360 and it now replaces every aio i have. customer said she didnt even know that the truck was metallic. and she also kept repeating that it looks much better than when she bought it. no more bs with klasse , et al. easiest to apply and it works great!

The best I have used so far is from a small supplier. It's cheap and doesn't dust at all and looks nice and glossy. I would still like to try some D151 though.

I like the XMT 360 works pretty well and cleans the paint up nice. Looks really good topped with DP MaxWax.
I have never tried the D151 because I understood it to be for Rotary only and the product description does not give instructions for random orbital application.:dunno: I also think I read Mike making the comment that it was recommended for rotary use only.

Don't know were you got your info from, but on the back of the bottle it clearly has instructions for DA units and the front of the bottle shows Hand /DA / Rotary use.

I didn't find it all that hard to get out and into a small bottle? Flip lid, remove lid on squeeze bottle, tip up D151 and squeeze bottle allowing product to xfer into small bottle. Replace top of squeeze bottle, remove top squeeze like ketchup onto pad.

Your not going to get much correction out of a green pad, up it to white and see what happens. My first time with it I went from green to orange (because I didn't have a lot of white pads) and thought it did exactly what it was intended to do?

As you've said, play with it some more.

I didn't say for sure, and I don't own a bottle. I said "I understood" SO Excuse Me! It is highly possible I confused this with a different Meg product....If I did I confused myself because that's why I never bought any....Maybe I'll throw some in my next order....But I like the XMT 360.

Meg D151 and FK 215. 151 has better cut, 215 cleans better and lasts longer. I tend to top either anyway with a sealant or wax. Also depending on the paint Prima swirl, Menz SIP or Meg 205 work well as a 1 step polish with the right pad. I really want to try Menz power finish

Stupid question. When you use an AIO with a DA, what pad or pads do you use?

That would depend on the level of correction needed/desired and or condition of surface. The type of CC or lack there of also plays a role on pad selection (single stage paint, soft CC, ceramic CC). Start with the least aggressive pad and work your way up if need be.
