Today I had a client come in with what I would describe as the worst oxidation I have ever seen outside of a junkyard. She wanted me to save her paint. I didn't think it could be done but told her I would give it my best effort.

Here are a couple of before pics.

Products Used:

Flex 3401
M105 & LC CCS Yellow Cutting Foams 6.5"
M205 & LC CCS White Polishing Foam 6.5"
V7

Process:
4 section passes with M105 & firm pressure on speed 5 followed by 2 passes with no pressure.

4 section passes with M205 with light pressure on speed 3.5-4.

Results: Better than I could've imagined.

Okay, just kidding. The before pics are of a Honda Accord that came in for an interior detail today and just happened to look very similar to the Ford Fusion sitting next to it that I had just polished.

Happy Weekend!

:xyxthumbs: you got me too!!! I was kicking myself for getting rid of my old black heavily oxidized Honda w/out seeing you first! :goodpost: :goodpost:

OK, like everyone else you got me hook, lime, and sinker....:nomore:

Got me too! The before pictures looked like cc failure.

The before pics are definitely clear coat failure. The clear coat and even black paint filled my microfiber with just one wipe. The customer brought it in hoping I could save it. Yeah right. She had been given an exterior detail gift certificate as a gift so I offered to do her interior instead and told her to go get a cheap paint job.

Its amazing how many cars I see out here with this problem. That's why its imperative that we educate your customers on the importance of a good sealant or wax and a clay bar treatment a couple times a year. Especially if they park outside or are near the airport or the beach. She had all 3 of those going against her and had never had it waxed since 03 when she got it.

Now, my wife's car trunk looks just like that (except her car's a Toyota Coralla and it's candy apple red)... before the reveal I was assiduously taking notes and getting ready to call my buddy Karim to borrow his Flex....
I'd already told my wife once it'd gotten there it was beyond saving, but in spite of that I still got excited initially, you REALLY got me...

got me, i was automatically going to think repaint but then i read the just kidding afterwards.
