Hi everyone

I would like to remove the greasy tyre shine that has been left on my car from the dealership.

I've tried using some all purpose cleaner and a brush to agitate but it hardly made any improvement.

Is there a product that you can recommend to help me remove the old tyre shine?

Perhaps I need something more potent or a dedicated rubber/tyre cleaner.

Thanks

I use purple power straight and a brush.

Tuf Shine Tire Cleaner is a great choice.

Recently I bought Meg's D143 and have been using it at 3:1 on my tires and wheels. It does just as good, maybe better. I like using a stiff bristle brush for agitation.

I hate dealer tire shine....not only are the products usually oil based but they are also WAY too liberal with the application.

Nowadays, it's:
TUF SHINE's tire cleaner.

Note...
TUF SHINE Tire Brushes:
excellent product @ just $5.00 ea.

I've been using Amazing Roll-off for over 5 years now. It does a great job on the white lettering on my BFG tires.

I use meguiars d143 and really like it for maintenance washing. A little goes a long way and I can use it to clean both my tires and wheels. even on fairly nasty tires at 2:1 dilution I generally don't have to go over a tire twice to get it clean. It's also incredibly economical.

I bought this when it was BOGO Stoner Wheel Cleaner and it cleaned tires so good I will buy it again. I bought it for wheels as a lower cost alternative to the bleeding wheel cleaners and read the directions and realized it was also good for tires. One application was all that it needed to clean the wheels and tires like new on a car that had gone a year since the owner cleaned them. For the price it is worth trying out and they guarantee satisfaction or your money back.

For a OTC solution you can try good ole' BM Bleche-White tire cleaner. If it is really bad tough tire shine, you can use Stoner's Tarminator to remove it. Spray it on a folded MF towel and wipe 1/4 of the tire. Spray it a new face on MF and wipe next 1/4 tire. After the tire is done then go over it with your regular tire cleaner.

It works. Not something you would want to do very often though. You'll want to throw the MF towel away afterwards most likely

I'm growing very fond of it myself. It's not Sonax, but a car doesn't needs something that tough when it gets washed weekly like mine.
