Just had our paver patio de-weeded. Weeds grow through the pavers like, well you know, weeds. I need something that I can spray to keep them from coming back. I tried something last year that was supposed to keep them from coming back for a year, they came back in a few months. TIA

Spectracide for less $$$ it just takes a day longer to see results.

Typically, weeds do not grow up through the pavers, but rather in dirt that gets deposited between the blocks when the polymeric sand has gotten washed/blown away....which happens over time. It is not impossible for them to grow up through, but if the excavation and subsequent base material compacting is done right, it's tough for them to do so. Roundup is readily available, and very effective, but can (and will) leach out and kill grass on the sides of the paver walk/patio...so be judicious when using it.

Roundup makes a product that says it will keep them out for several months.....but weeds to not watch TV or pay attention to their claims, and have a way of reappearing.

To keep all vegetation out of
my patio's paver area I use:
Triox (by Ortho).

Hit it with roundup to kill the existing weeds for good. Then buy some PREEN Pre-emergence and sprinkle it on the pavers and water in. It will prevent any new seeds from germinating.

I have a larger patio like this at the bottom of our deck and do it yearly. Works like a charm.

I couldn't resist. :awesome:

Last year I picked up some Bayer Weed Killer. The stuff does a terrible job. Do yourself a favor and don't buy that brand.

Brake Kleen.

Kills everything and it never grows back....Ask me how I know.

Actually now that mentioned a off topic brand, wheel acid will kill weeds pronto like within 5 minutes you will see them brown and shrivel to nothing, and most importantly kill the roots. But highly not recommended for soil contamination.I just used it on those pesky ones that keep coming back, other wise out of all the weed killers I've bought and tossed lesco is professional grade stuff .

Lesco prosecutor works great.

Lesco products are top shelf.....I've used SnapShot pre-emergent for years.....definitely more expensive than Preen, but also more effective. Most landscape customers do not want to pay the extra premium for Lesco.

Funny you should say that. I'm taking home a can to try clean my fence. I bought some Roundup this weekend, when that is gone and I need to re-spray, I'm going to try the brake cleaner.

I laughed at the brake cleaner. It also works great on bees!

For weeds, Roundup works well, but Triox is the best.

Depends on whether you want to add poison to your soil. If you want to go natural try this:

1 Gal of 10%-2-% White Vinegar
2 Oz. of Orange Oil
2 Oz. of Dishwashing Liquid

I have a new lawn and can't really use any weed chemicals on it yet. Yesterday I prolly pulled about 500 weeds with his Weed Weasel. No bending. Works awesome.

Looks interesting. I figured you'd want to bend over, for the exercise and all. Depending on where the weeds are located, I'll use a selective weed killer in my grass and some commercial Roundup concentrate if the weeds are in my stones.
