Best wheel cleaner for BMW

That mud video was interesting. I might give this stuff try sometime.

Believe me I'm neurotic enough to take the wheels off the car to wash them. I have tried darn near every type of wheel wax, synthetic sealant, wheel protectant that you can imagine. This is the only thing I found that works in a manner that is very differnt.

BUT---
Cons:
-Will dull the finish slightly, not much. Better than brake dust.
- Once can will last you 2 applications (but that's 6 months for me), so it's relatively expensive. 7/8 bucks a can.
- Cure time. Says an hour but overnight is preferred.
- Can use on top of existing waxes but I found that doing this causes it to streak a bit. Best to use it on a clean sheet with no LSP.
- Some brake dust will form so it's not fool proof. Can be easily removed with a light pass of MF towel, no pressure or cleaner needed.

I drive a 2009 335i, so I'm all too aware of the issues with BMW's and brake dust. For me, it's been a multi-step process, but I'm able to keep mine very clean.

3. Lastly, as far as sealing, spend the money on either Opti-Coat or CQuartz. I've bought an used Wheel Wax, PB Wheel Sealant, Prima Wheel Armor, Collinite and plenty of other sealants. All work well, but I get too tired of having to reapply them. Three months ago I applied CQuartz, and I've never looked back. Just a quick hit from a pressure washer, and the brake dust is gone. It's expensive, but worth every single penny.

Did the CQuartz change the color (darken or lighten) the finish? The product description says that it contains nano fiberglass resulting in a reflective shine, which is different from the Optimum Opti-Coat as this says that it goes on clear. Also, can you apply CQuartz on top of Poorboy's Wheel Sealant? I have the PB wheel sealant on there now and would like to know if the CQuartz can bond on top of the PB so that I do not have to strip off the PB Wheel Sealant. I have silver clear coated wheels that I want to keep free of brake dust or only have to use soap and water to clean so this CQuartz looks like it might work pretty good so that I do not need to use a clear coat safe wheel cleaner such as P21S. Can the 10ml sample size cover all 4 wheels or do you need the larger size?

Something I found with Bimmers is if you use the pads from Cool Carbon (google them) you will see a dramatic dust reduction...

Do you have these on your car? After market ceramic brake pads on BMW's have been know to make noise (even after proper break -in) when rolling to a stop - so do they squeak at all?

I have tried alot of waxes/sealants on wheels over the years, and KSG is the longest lasting IME. Now Opticoat may change that( I have it on 3 vehicles/and their wheels at present). KSG works best with multiple coats. And yes I have tried wheel waxes, 845, 476, and other sealants.

1. CQuartz will not change the color of the wheel at all. Will leave a nice shine, but no color change.
2. You ABSOLUTELY need to strip all LSP's prior to applying CQuartz. I used an APC, and then 2 IPA wipedowns prior to applying. I also clayed my wheels to make sure that the surface was primed and ready for application.
3. Yes, the 10ml size will do all four wheels. If you apply it correctly, you'll probably be able to do them twice (which I did in order to ensure complete coverage).

Since applied, have only needed soap and water for heavy dirt, just the hose for dust. I can actually clean them daily if I want with just a light spray from a Wolfgang pressurized sprayer.

Again, CQuartz is THE answer for folks who want a simple solution on cleaning up brake dust.

I've tried the Megs WB, and no doubt it works well. However, when I deal with BMW wheels, Car Brite's non-acid works best for me. just spray and rinse, rarely do I need to use brushes or extra elbow grease.

Yeah I do... I use them and ATE performance rotors they work great! very minor noise if at all and low dusting along with great stopping power...

Alright, so I have the cleaner I need. In terms of the sealant, once my wheels are dried and cleaned, what are some good ones again? Something easy to apply, per say?
(I know there have been a few listed already)
