Best Winter Sealant Durability?

Duragloss 601/105 vs. Duragloss 105 - Sides of car
Rejex vs. Menzerna Power Lock vs. DP Poli-Coat - Hood
Collinite 476 vs. 845 - Rear of car

Please do, results can vary tremendously! Just look at my experience with Poorboy's LNB vs. everyone else. I think it would be great to have another person conducting a test like this.

I'm planning on going with Optimum Poli-Seal followed by two coats of Collinite 845 once it stops raining.

Certainly not a Zaino flag waiver, but last year I used Z2Pro for the Canadian winter and it lasted for the entire winter on the flat surfaces. It did not survive on the lower portions of the car which were exposed to the sand/salt.

While I MUCH prefer a product like WG DGPS (because of ease of use), I think Z2Pro is the best I've seen for winter protection.

Which brings up another question. How cold is too cold to use a spray wax or sealant?

Products like ocw, os, upgp?

For UPGP I believe the users guide mentions this but I'll have to check.

No one has yet mentioned Finish Kare's 1000p. If I were looking for the most durable synthetic sealant, that's the one I would probably choose, excluding the Klasse twins.

I 100% disagree about Jetseal, it is simply one of the products I thought was sooo much hype and, it didn't have the durability to live up to it...

That's the interesting thing about detailing products. Many swear by Collinite 476s and I found it to be an abysmal product, while 845 worked very well for me and I like it very much.

Keep in mind that my car is daily driven. The drive from my house to work is 150 miles, then from my apartment to work is about 8 miles, then the drive back to my house is 150 miles. My car sits outside 24/7 and will be subjected to automatic touchless car washes and the occasional hand wash.

For the last two years I've been using three coats of Klasse SG followed by one of WGDGPS. After doing it in November the car stays protected and quite glossy until spring (it is garaged though).

I'm going to do the same this year and periodically add a coat of Wolfgang DG Spritz Sealant when I can after the few winter washings it gets. It enhances the shine of even WGDGPS (which is considerable), and I figure it acts as a sacrificial layer to the weather gods so they don't take the regular sealants as fast. But as I said I never needed it to get through winter.

1 coat of Collinite 476 lasted me all of last Fall, Winter and into the Spring. I never washed or did anything to my car for that entire period of time. After the 2 feet of snow from the blizzard months after that application of 476 my car was beading water like crazy as if I had been keeping it garaged and happened to get it stuck out in the snow. I just put 1 coat of 476 on my car yesterday, and I'm thinking I won't have to touch it till next spring once again. I used an Autoglym hand shaped pad yesterday and it made it very easy to put on a super thin coat of 476, if you put it on thick it takes hours to buff off by hand.

I know it is a bit much but I have way too many sealants to try.

Breakdown will probably be as such:

Roof
Hood/Front Bumper
Trunk/Rear Bumper
Front Door/Fender Driver Side
Front Door/Fender Passenger Side
Rear Door/Quarter Driver Side
Rear Door/Quarter Passenger Side

I cant believe that CG would over-hype a product!! (sarcasm intended) I 100% agree, its an OK sealant durability wise.

You'd have to tape off sections, label them, and photograph for later verification and analysis.

My plan is to use BFWD (two coats). Since I live in the DC area where it does not get too bad am able to wash the car during the winter on warmer days. My plan is to put a quick coat of OCW on the cars after those washes.

The BF High Gloss Sealant Spray is a nice companion for BFWD too!

LAst winter I used WGDGPS 2x and a coat of fuzion and it made it through the winter on garage kept daily driver.

This winter I'm planning on FK2180 topped with FK1000p

As a follow-up, I was reading a wax comparison post on detailingworld.com (Biggest Wax Test Ever - Detailing World) and it showed close to six months for Autoglym HD. What does everyone think of topping BFWD with Autolgym HD for the winter?
