I want to start this post off with i like bicycles and bike alot myself. But if you are going to bike on the road stay on the shoulder and out of the way of traffic. You cant keep up with cars so doing be in the lane you could cause a bad crash

I digress

Rant all you want...

But, with very few exceptions:
Bicyclists have the same rights...and responsibilities...
as motorists.

The law gives the bicyclists the right to use the road, the same as a motorist, and requires other traffic to slow down for them.

Yep. They are treated like motor vehicle. They are suppose to follow all the same rules of the road, but do they? No.

So...
Besides ranting and raging:
What do you guys do about all the bicyclists?

I swerve at them so they feel the wind wiE by from the titans big ass mirrors when they are riding on the wrong side of the road. Hum I wonder why we have that whole dedicated lane it wouldn't be for us to ride in I'm lance Armstrong lol and maybe I have a road rage issue

It's funny you mention bikes because I've been thinking about getting one. a Fixie to be exact..

p.s. i would ride on sidewalks not roadways where cars are...

That will garner you, at the very least:
A moving violation ticket from the arresting Officer.

Furthermore:
Keeping possession of the Titan, with the big ass mirrors,
has a distinct possibility of becoming an adjudicated matter.

I have a fixie, and I love it. :props:

I got a cheap Walmart one($75), upgraded the hub, peddles, and grips and I'm still under $110. I looked into a more expensive bikes but for 30-40 miles a weeks I put on it I figured I'll work around its short comings.

that's the one I was looking at too lol :D . on CL there are a few places (skateboard/bike shops) around me that sell them as well and I don't want to spend more than 2 bills. if I do get one, I'm going to peel off all the stickers (I like the plain look) if possible and lightly hand polish it, and possibly coat it :D.

NEW PRICE! Drop Bar Fixie Black. All Aluminum NEW COLORS!!

What really gets me was I'm driving into my neighborhood today and a couple are walking side by side down our road with a perfectly good sidewalk for them to walk on.

As for bicycles, I always give them plenty of room.

I would advise reading your local laws and seeing what applies to cyclists. Many states give them free roam to the entire lane, or include stipulations to move over as far as possible when a vehicle approaches. The shoulder may be in poor condition as well that could lead to them falling. Some states also ban bicycles on sidewalks.

I try to see it from both sides.

Now people walking in the street? That's crazy, the only time I'll run on the street is against traffic at night when the lighting is poor on sidewalks, but anytime a car even gets remotely close I hop on the sidewalk.

WOW! :dblthumb2:

Are these pictures from a shop near you? Choices choices!

My lady has banned me from bike shops . . . :nomore:

I couldn't leave that shop with only one colour choice! Fixies are too cool. $75 really? Bargain!

Aaryn NZ. :dblthumb2:

^^^^ sweet looking bikes.

FYI fixies, or a "FIX", as we call them in NYC are not for the meek of heart. But agin I love mine.

The one I have is all black frame, red tire & rim and yellow tire & rim.

I can't wait to strip my rims to bare metal and put black tires once my current ones are toast.

I always try to give them as much room as I can. While I don't have a road bike, my wife does. When the roads aren't the greatest, it can make for a challenging ride. I have seen more than my fair share of people go down, even experienced riders.

I don't care who has the right of way, I always try to give some extra room. You never know. No sense in getting all worked up about it. They are out there, you are out there, make it work.

Besides, running over a cyclist will most likely ruin your day, for both parties.

I would have no issue with hitting someone on a bike if they don't obey the laws. I am not wrecking my car because they don't know the laws, sorry

I knew a guy who got a D.U.I. on a bicycle.

He was carrying chicken from KFC and fell. All the chicken and coleslaw was all over the road. Cops locked him up and he got D.U.I. For being crocked.

Yeah, because your car's finish is so much more important than someone's life. And possibly your freedom, should you be found at fault.

cyclist need to respect anything that can run them over, and car drivers need to respect anything that can scratch your paint, so either way, I give lots of room to the other party.!
