Black 04 Chevy Truck. Still learning

I did this truck last weekend for a new client and forgot to take my camera with me. I spent 2 days on it and it started getting dark as i was applying the sealant so after wiping the sealant off I set it up so that I could come back this weekend and go over it with a fine tooth comb so to speak.

It was washed with ONR then clayed using ONR as lube
M-105 with orange VC pad on Makita rotary
M-205 with white VC pad on Flex 3401
The part where I am still learning is that I ran out the M-205 and then tried to wash off the polish residue instead of wiping it off as I went.
Applied DG #111 as LSP

I went back today and wiped off a lot of small traces of polish residue then did an ONR wash and then wiped it down with PB Spray & Gloss
The wheels were wiped down with DG Aqua Wax and tired got Optibond then washed with left over ONR to give a uniform new tire look with no wet look as per customer request.

Here are some after pics, you'll see the polish residue in the way of a buffer trail below the door handle in the one photo. when I suggested that that spot be re polished, the customer said it will be getting snowed on in a few weeks and that I should just let it go. While not the perfect finish it is a lot better than what I started with and the customer is happy.

It is a 7 year old truck that was never corrected before and is used as a snow vehicle and to pull a large 5th wheel camper so you all know that it had some defects to start out with. Sorry for not getting before pics all the same. Thanks for looking, TD

Dave, I know you set a high standard for yourself. A standard that is higher than most. That is good, don't lose that. Key here is the customer was happy. you can make the next one hit your mark. Paint looks good by the way. We all know that Black is not very forgiving.

Thanks for the kind words. It is true that I am my worst critic. That was a really tough truck to do with all the hard edges and a lot of tight spots.

Just to clarify, you ran out of M205, so you couldn't polish out the buffer trail(door) from the prior rotary step?

No, I did the M-205 polishing and without wiping the residue off I continued until the 205 step was complete and then I tried to wash the M-205 residue off of the entire vehicle instead of wiping it off one panel at a time. It had been getting dark and I didn't realize that the Megs Hyper Wash hadn't removed all of the polish residue. I dried and applied DG # 111 via G110V2 not realizing that the spot of residue was still there. Today when I went back to detail the truck I couldn't wipe off that residue because it is sealed over for a week. I wanted to re polish and re seal that door but the customer told me not to. Thanks for the compliment.

The customer works out of state during the week and that is why I had to wait to go back to clean up what I missed last week as it was getting dark and I was rushing things. I guess I needed 3 days for this one.
