Despite being just a year old, garaged, and never driven in bad weather, my Mustang looked horrible with all the swirls and holograms plainly visible in direct sunlight. In the spring I rolled the dice and got a PC 7424XP and did a full swirl correction using Meguiars pro products. I never used an electric before, and was reluctant to even try it on a new black car. Glad I took the chance. After just the first use, an acquaintance at a local cruise nite who is a pro detailer by trade remarked that the results I got are just what he strives for on a black car.

I have to resist the urge to use it every week!!!! It's so easy and idiot proof...and I'm an idiot.

Here it is last week after a full detail, and polish and wax in prep for a show.

Nice looking 'Stang! Glad you 'took the chance' and got to experience what can be done on your own!

Good job and keep at it!

Looks awesome!:dblthumb2:

I don't see so good your Mustang as it's too far away from me (pics are small) but if everybody says it came out very nice in the end, I trust them & say the same, especially it's your 1st time (I hope it's not the last) full scale detailing operation with machines.
Well, Mustang's pain(t) is not considered to be of very high quality probably that's why swirls & holograms even without driving it for 1Y , but don't worry soon it will all reappear again so relax & get used to it - this is Mustang!

:welcome: on board

Nice Stang

Thanks to all for the compliments.

And to 07gtcs....

Your car looks very familiar. I've seen it on another forum, either as a member car or possibly pics of it at a show posted by someone else. There's aren't a whole lot of two-tone S197's out there. It looks great. Can you post more oics?

Thank you for your comments.

If you click one of the pics it'll take to a page where the pics are larger.

The results I got as a first time user of the DA exceeded my expectations. I'm usually a klutz when it comes to these things, but I took my time and proceeded painfully slow. It took a day and a half to do all three steps....swirl removal/polish/wax. I have a tight garage so that slowed things down, and I frequently went back inside to view the Mike Phillips video that came with my bundle before I proceeded to the next step. And I made a few mistakes, especially lifting the machine while it was still running....what a mess!!!! But anything I did incorrectly was reversible, so no harm, no foul. Now I can get through the process fairly easily.

My next full machine session is coming up soon and I'm adding a clay alternative step using the Nanoskin. That'll be followed by a complete nook and cranny detail marathon. Then it'll be stored under cover in the garage in preparation for the Northeast winter.

That Stang looks beautiful! Doesn't it feel awesome to do that yourself? And having the equipment and experience to do it again.

Which Meguiars products did you use? How hard/soft is the Mustang's paint? I have a 2013 black GT that is in serious need of swirl removal. I'd like to know what I'm getting into before I start, since I'm new to paint correction.
