Black Corvette ZR1 Vs The Boss System Review

Excellent Work and Review Joe,

I just have some questions.

1) Between the BOSS MF Cutting Pad and Megs MF Xtra cutting and cutting pad, which is the most aggressive and least aggressive?

2) Have you tried the BOSS MF Cutting Pad with M105? if yes, how it performed?

To answer your first auestion, the xtra cut disc is more agressive then the boss mf cutting pad, however the griots garage fast cutting pad is more on par with the xtra cut from meguiars, due that they both have no foam foam interface and just strictly stick to the plate.

To answer your second question, yes i have used 105 with a mf cutting pad, however i havent used 105 in forever, it gets hard to work with with dusting and wiping off, and short work time, there are compounds on the market that are the exact opposite of that.

Like the boss creams, fg400, mckees 37 fast cut, etc the abrasive technology has really stepped up a notch in this past year or so.

And fast correcting cream is my favorite compound right now. If i was you i would avoid the 105. Can you make it work ? Sure but theres other products that are so much easier to work with.
 
All I've been using Polywax now dor just about a month (?) and have applied it to several cars. It is a true pleasure to work with. Apply, leave on for 15-20 minutes and wipe off. It leaves behind an incredible shine and beads water like no one's business. I did a brief review on it a few weeks ago on AGO, and can't yet speak to long term durability - but along with the BOSS correcting cream, it's fantastic.

Thanks for your answers, I really appreciate it, I tried to use the BOSS MF cutting pad with thw FG400, I primed it and then used only 2 drops and it clogged too fast, the MF hairs were down, I don't know If I'm using to much product to prime it, but I really don't think so.

About the M105, some people, to reduce dust like almost non, they add 2 or 3 drops of 105 and 1 drop of UC/D300, or they prime it with D300 and then they add 3 or 4 drops of M105 and it extends the working time & makes it wipe off nicely. I don't have the M105 yet but I will do it when I get some of it.

If you have to buy 2 products to make 1 product more user friendly does it seem worth it to buy that product ? Not to me it doesnt.

Why are you so hyped on trying 105 ?

As far as the microfibers matting down, no matter what polish you use this is going to happend that is the characteristics of the pad.

Using compressed air or a condition brush to bring the pad back to life as well as cleaning it , (also to refluff the fibers)

Before you get 105 get griots fast correcting cream, i used it on this hammered zr1 in this review and the results speak for them self.

It has a long work time, it smells good, doesnt dust, and wipes off like a dream.

Having to buy 2 products in order to make 1 product easier to work with ? Does that seem worth it to me ? Not at all there are far better products on the market, that will make my life easier with better results.

Once again try fast correcting cream i dare you not to love it

I agree, some people use baby oil, other ones UC because it's cheap. Anyway, About why I'm so hyped about 105 is because it's easy to find it here in Mexico, but now I can reach the Fast Correcting Cream on Amazon, so I will order it.

How many cars you can do with the 16oz Fast Correcting Cream Joe?

If you are a begginer at polishing, fast correctinh cream is so much more newbie friendly then 105.

105 is a pain to work with and can get frustrating to use especially for a newbie i am a pro and it gets frustrating to work with.

The fast correcting cream will go a long way, why ? It has a really long working time, it doesnt dry up on you like 105 does, making you use tons of product, the polish is done when you want it to be done.

And that means you use less product.

After you prime the pad, a few drops each panel will get you showcar results.
 
That car was DESTROYED. NICE recovery!!!

The last tiime I saw anything that bad was when a friend had a black 1983 Datsun 280ZX and SCRUB washed it with a plastic bristled TIRE BRUSH ... several times!!:wow::doh::cry: the car ended up looking wet-sanded

Great I will give a shot, one more question Joe, did you try the fast correcting cream with Surbuf pads? maybe it will be a killer combo.

Surbuf pads are picky; they don't work well with all polishes. For example, they cut great with M105, but terrible with Menzerna. I can't stand using M105 with anything, however...haha. I do love Fast Correcting Cream.

So did you tried Surbuf with Fast Correcting Cream?
 
Beautiful work! I just got my G15 can't wait to break it out this weekend. Great save on the paint! That should be one excited vette owner.
