Black light v7 ???

I have had awesome luck with the BL/V7 combo. Sometimes I'll top it with the Pete's 53 'nuba, when I'm feeling frisky!

I have had awesome longevity with it, especially for a black car that sits outside all the time. Sometimes I'll boost it after a wash with some Meguiar's Spray Wax, which helps quite a bit.

I have also done a fair amount of Blacklight/V7 topped with Collinite 845 and really love the look and protection, even is a harsh climate like ours
 
I have always used two coats. First one by machine (DA) with black or blue pad, then second coat by hand. Both coats applied light. Then top with V7 or Pete's 53. v7 used periodically after washing as a QD/maintenance product.
If this is wrong order I will update this post, I am going to CG warehouse next weekend and will ask.
 
so definitely gave blacklight and v7 a shot today.... overall unimpressed I started with the white golf r applied 2 coats of blacklight one by machine the other with a LC hand applicator... waited 30 min between each. and then sprayed down with v7... pretty much feel like blacklight was a waste of time. I did like how b4 turned out on my wheels (black ultralagger Oz wheels) ended up using souveran said and reload on my wifes optima.. I'll keep using v7 for post weekly washes but blacklight gave me zero wow factor....

Blacklight on a white car, and you're suprised that you don't like how it looks?

It's marketed as looking best on darker colors, and I echo this sentiment.
 
I find that black light looks good on my white car. Where I could see tiny swirls, black light fills it in then I top with zymol glasur or cg 5050 then v7. I got some really good wax coming in this week so I have to decide whether to top black light with it or do a polish to get rid of swirls then apply the new wax.

Definitely gave it a shot after reading several threads on other people likening how it came out on their WHITE vehicles...

Maybe that's the biggest reason as to why I didn't notice any real wow. Black light is a glaze and should be used to round the edges of those swirls like pinnicale paint cleanser. Both my kia and the golf R have pretty close to showroom ie no swirls no rids (none notable any how) so it really was redundant to apply a glaze I was curious to see the different "glow" others talked about with this combo... Oh well maybe others will pick some info out of this thread they can use or discard.

I also wanted to leave another comment on waxes specifically marketed towards a specific color. Ill have to do a google search again but someone shared a dodo article on there different waxes and white paint being able to take that sort of "colored glow" effect they found the magic number I believe to be 4 or 6 coats so my take on the article is no wax should be read black and white will only work wonders on c paint or y paint but rather could yield a completely different look... Of course only after several layers but still..

Yeah if both of your cars are new with no swirls then black light probably isn't worth putting on for you.

I bought my car used with low miles, but it looks like the first owner ran it through a drive through car wash as there are tiny scratches on the rear side fenders.

I polished areas that had the scratches and now most of them are gone.

I'll strip the wax when I wash the car in two months then take a light to it and see if it needs further polishing after I clay it.

I can barely see anything right now so either I did a pretty good job polishing it out the first time or black light and my wax filled it in nicely.
 
Sorry to hear it didn't give the look you were going for. Good news is that BlackLight is not super expensive. I still say V7 is the underdog in that combo and isn't given enough credit.
