Removal of the badge

This is the remaining residue after removing the badges. Goo gone got this off very easily

I never took any pics of the washing or decontamination processes, however this what the paint looked like once above had been done

I then taped up and began correcting the paint

Prior to putting on any LSP I pulled the car out to check my progress in the sun

Then cropped in closer to try and show how nicely metallic flakes were popping

Hard to tell which half is the reflection off the glass sunroof and which is off the paint - i.e. a really nice reflection

The car was then pulled back into the garage to have LSP applied and to finish off the rest of the detail.

Another great job, as always, Lawrence!

Killer job again mate !

Another great job, as always, Lawrence!

Beautiful work and pictures Lawrence. Looks incredible!

Thank you all so much.

I am really enjoying polishing out black cars, especially ones like these that have metallic flakes in them.... it is quite rewarding to start off with a car where you can hardly tell it is metallic and then to land up with...um......clear....clear coat, so that you can really see the flakes pop:dblthumb2:

Nice turnaround...

I'm thinking about removing my badges on my car any tips?

Thanks

The badge removal was actually very easy.

All I did was wrap some fishing gut around my hands and gentle pull it behind the badges, from the top down, to 'cut' the badge away from the paint.

This left the 'tape/glue' residue on the paint, which was then easily dissolved with some goo gone (I have also used AF Oblitarate in the past with much success)

Nice reflections! I know what you mean about black metallic/pearl paint. My daily is a Corolla XRS with black pearl paint and the flake is amazing once polished out (since buying it last December I have only done a test section; right now all of the paint looks as if the previous owner(s) ran a rotary haphazardly at full speed and then washed it with rocks!).
