Just knocked this puppy out earlier this week.
Took me approximately about 10 hours to complete. This is for a three step exterior and full interior.

Took the cues from Mike's detail of the Hennessy Corvette.

10 Month Update - BLACKFIRE One Step - BLACK 700 HP Hennessy Corvette

Product used:

McKee's Tire and Rubber Rejuvenator.
SONAX Wheel Cleaner Full Effect.
Outer rim polished with Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish.
Wheel spokes polished with Collinite Metal Wax.
McKee's extreme iron remover.
Optimum car wash.
Griots fine clay mitt.
BlackFire One Step.
Rupes 15 DA.
Rupes Yellow pad.
BlackFire Sealant.
BlackFire Midnight Sun Ivory Carnauba Paste Wax.
Dr Colorchip---standard black.

Started the testing, using Blackfire one step with the Rupes white pads...What??? No bling!! Not impressed at all. Was shocked and disappointed.
Tried speed with white pads---same thing!
Tried the SONAX EX 04-06, was just OK...Customer wanted the one step process.
Even tried Rupes yellow polish---Meh...

What the Heck?? I feel myself beginning to fall down the rabbit hole trying 20 different products and getting confused!

Stop...

Think...

Owner wants a One step...OK---check
Mike did a BlackFire One Step on the Hennessy...OK---check

Think...again.

Start over and back up.
BlackFire One Step and Rupes YELLOW pad. Bingo!!! The yellow pad was the key. The white pad before was just too soft and kind of dulled the paint and did not really take out much of the scratches.

This leads tells me the corvette paint is on the softer side. I thought paint hardness was going to be right in the middle. WRONG...Wrong again!

Geez...maybe oughta try somethin easier than detailing paint like drinking beer and eating pizza!

OK...on to pictures. Hold on till I switch over to my phone from the computer.

Oh....before forgetting.

Customer asked for One step.

I went ahead and gone around car 2 more times adding BlackFire Sealant. Let sealant dry overnight and removed the following morning.
Went around one more time adding BlackFire Sun Ivory Carnauba Wax. "Wet-Ice over Fire".

Complimentary of course.

Customer was floored and very, very happy.

And more importantly, I AM very, very happy!

Tommy - glad to see you like BF One Step. I happen to think it's an EXCELLENT product with some real bite.

P.S. Wonderful job!!!!

Scott, Mike, Paul...

Thank You...took a while to get it dialed in but once I got it figured out---it became a fun to do!

Always good when you are happy with your work! Looks really good bro! Super wet and deep!

Scott and Jayfro...

Thank you!

Gorgeous, Tommy! Nice work.

I've had those paints with several test spots! When I have to move to the trunk lid I think I've lost my touch. Then...BAM...that's the ticket.

Yes!!! Exactly! Thought I lost my touch...! And then Bam!

You hit it on the head!!

Thanks for saying that. I feel much better--lol...

Nice Tom!

Thanks for sharing. The BLACKFIRE One Step is truly amazing. Also as you discovered, in most cases soft foam finishing pads don't offer enough mechanical assist for the abrasives on harder paints like most Corvettes have.

Applying the sealant and then the wax is what I shared in the class you attended called,

Under promise and over deliver

:)

Great work and write up and pictures Tom!

That black looks a mile deep!

Thank You Tony...

This was one of my "more" exited details than the others.

BF played well, car was smaller, used more yellow pads than usual and the owner was just a super great all round person. He the kind of person a detailer would love to polish for!
