I prepped a 2015 black Acura with BF wash, clay, M105 compound, Optimum Hyper Polish, IPA wipedown, then BF prep wipedown. I opened a brand new, sealed bottle of the crystal coat on a 70 degree, 50% humidity day. I used the foam applicator in the kit and applied the product very sparingly. I had watched all of the instructional videos and read the directions very carefully before applying to a 2 x 2 section. I tried using the microfiber towel in the kit anywhere from 1 minute, to 5 minues and it was like trying to buff off contact cement every time. I varied everything from a smaller application section, amount on the applicator, longer and shorter flash times, to different nap towels. Nothing improved the horrendous effort to buff it out. At the half-way mark I was exhaused and wanted to give up and stop EXCEPT that the depth and gloss of the product was just amazing. (And I purchased 2 bottles so did not want to lose my investment) So, I modified the application by cutting squares of a synthetic chamois and wrapping them around the applicator, putting 3 drops of mineral spirits and 3 to 5 drops of the CS. The product now spread like melted butter and I had anywhere from 5 to 8 minutes to buff it out. I misted a mf towel with 10% IPA and distilled water and buffed very softly. The second half of the car was now super easy to complete. I may not get 2 years durability with the modified application, but the car cured to a wet candy apple gloss that water will not stick to. If I only get 1 year, I and my customer will still be very happy. Without modifying the application, I would throw the product away due to difficulty. Using Mineral Sprits and the chamois and misting the buffing towel with IPA, I will now happily continue to use it. I will be doing 4 more cars this week, and will post about the longevity later.
