Blind Samples

By contrast, Jeff's Werkstat does not appear to darken the paint. I find the same thing to be true with Colli 845 IW.

Funny you say that, I have a photo that says otherwise.

*Edit - Correction, that was the wrong photo. Here's the correct photo, the whole left side is IW alone:

Interesting. 845 IW doesn't seem to darken silver paint, it actually seems to brighten it. But this was based on looking at the entire vehicle after application and I didn't do a side by side like that.

Frankly, the amount of difference shown in that picture would lead me to believe that an LSP can make up MORE than the generally accepted percentage of the final look of the paint (people usually say the final look is 95% prep and 5% LSP for example).

I agree with you 100%. I wasn't expecting the results you see. When I pulled the tape off my wife even commented on the difference and she is not even into detailing.

Any idea when you plan on trying Fuzion on your Lotus?

That's a very noticeable difference, Tad.
Some LSPs definitely darken paint. Souveran is known for darkening dark colors. Do not worry about Fuzion darkening your metalic silver paint, just the contrary, if your paint is properly polished Fuzion will amplify the the paint in all it's splended glory:props:

Even if it did, Fuzion is such a joy to use, it wouldn't bother me. :xyxthumbs:I want to buy supernatural because it seems to be very pure and bright, but I'm weary of the application/removal and sweating issuses.

P.S. Those tree reflections in your hood are SUPER DUPER CLEAR!!!!!!!!!!

Souveran left/........................./Supernatural Right

Thanks for posting these.

These pics confirm what the general consensus has been on these two waxes: Souveran really darkens the paint, and Supernatural is a brighter wax than most carnauba's.

I've never had a problem with Supernatural sweating myself, but I know others have had the issue.

Application and removal of Supernatural is a real pleasure. Not up to Fuzion standards, but not too far behind either.

That clarity come from polishing. Look at the first picture and you will see that same reflection clarity in the Souveran side. IMO Fuzion is just as pure and bright. I think that it is just the angle of the third photo that makes it look more clear. I could post pictures of Souveran, Fuzion, and even MaxWax that are every bit as SUPER DUPER CLEAR!!!!!!Heck for that mater I could post pictures of paint with NO LSPs at all that would be every bit as SUPER DUPER CLEAR!!!!! as long as the paint is polished correctly....

I'm definitely aware that polishing brings out the clarity in paint, and you do a great job at it. :props: As a matter of fact, didn't someone do a test that showed that LSP's can actually decrease the gloss after polishing?

My experiences with SN are definitely different than yours. Could be temp, humidity, color of and type of paint, etc., I don't know. But both times I've used SN (on black paint) it was much more difficult to apply than any other nuba I've used, it did remove very easily, but it did sweat for 2-3 days. Not a real big deal, as it did buff off. However I would be leary of applying it before a show. I understand that some HIGH nuba content, quality waxes do do this. I do own SN, but it's not one of my favorite nubas for this reason. However it does look great!

I know you are aware of this Mark, I just wanted to be sure newbies and lurkers would also be aware of this. Not sure about the test, but I would imagine that it could be true.

I think that has a lot to do with it.

I've not tried Supernatural on my red paint yet, but I would imagine that if the sweating issue was going to show up, it would do so on my red almost as much as it would on black.

Believe me, a HUGE part of the reason that I love Fuzion so much is that it does not leave any type of haze, residue, or "sweating" behind, and this has been a bit of a challenge for me with this color. Fuzion comes off completely clean and crystal clear.

I used the Supernatural on a yellow single stage paint, and silver.

:iagree:and hear ya man. Believe me I know, as flat black (no metalic) shows EVERYTHING!

What do you think of SN on silver?

Oh for hell sakes Mark just buy the panel pot, you know your gonna!! If I'd known you wanted to try it so bad, I'd have sent you a taste in the pkg I just sent you. Louie (Loudog) loves SN on his metalic silver!
