I agree with all the above comments about BobbyG. His postings are ones I count on for POLITE, helpful and relevant information.
He is class all the way thru and it comes across in the way he treats each and everyone of us. The forum would be a much poorer place without BobbyG.
Jim,
Thank you very much for for your kind words and for starting this thread.rops:
For the life of me I can't remember how I discovered Autogeek Online but seeing I've been an automotive buff for over 40 years it seemed to be the perfect place to hang out and learn a few things, yes I did say learn!
As I mentioned many times I began doing bodywork and painting as a hobby part time about 1974 or so and things were much different than today. We had Lacquers, Enamels, and a newer product on the market was a paint from Dupont called Imron.
I did tons of paint work and got into custom painting creating some of my own designs using paints from the MetalFlake Corp. Metalflake Paint - Dazzling 3D Metalic Finishes I've included the link because it in not a product that currently compete with Autogeek but will give you a glimpse into my former life.
Buffers back then were rotaries and wool pads only so learning the proper way to use them was important and not ruining a paint job was very important.
Detailing was naturally part of painting and automotive refurbishment and after I moved on from autobody work my passion for keeping my vehicles looking great never diminished.
This is where all Autogeek Online and all you fine folks come in....
What has happened through the years is the art of detailing; machines, pads, buffers, polishers, sandpaper, compounds, polishes, sealant's, waxes, and now Nano coatings have literally exploded. Comparing what we have today to what I used "back in the day" to todays line up is like comparing the Spirit of St. Louis to the Star Ship Enterprise.
I read and have learned ALLOT from every contributer to this forum. Whether it be hobbyist or professional, everyone brings something to the game. Personal techniques, pads, products, and combinations thereof generates tremendous amounts of critical learnings and have helped me join todays community of detailing experts.....that would be you!!
Thanks so much everyone for your kind words. I've enjoy the exchanges of information and experiences and particularity enjoy helping those where I can. I try to give clear and honest information saving those readers time and expense by creating a successful solution to a problem or situation. This is a real treat for me personally.
My current plan is to attend next years Detail Fest and I look forward to meeting everyone!rops:
Thanks Again!
Closing in on 4000. One of the best and most helpful members!rops: buddy! Thanks for all of your contributions! You are truly a great person and member!:applause::applause:[/

No one can dispute this post, Jim! Very thoughtful of you to bring it to our attention.
So true Richy! Bobby is the E.F. Hutton of AGO. When Bobby talks, people listen!I had been away from AG for a while. When I came back, I saw Bobby's posts and drew the same conclusions as everyone else. In many cases I did not bother to respond as Bobby's post had already nailed the answer!!!
