Bootcamp . . what have i done?

You probably should stick to being on the good side.

Laundry, dishes, dinner. Buy some Roses.

Take her out on a date.

Plan something wonderful to do here in the US as a family.

Don't know all the details, because I've never been married. But I hear that a happy wife, means a happy life. :D

Plus if you love it, you can always come back. If all goes well.

Aaryn, did you see the Bonneville convertible you'll be working on?? Woohoo that'll be fun!

Just posted pictures of it to the training car thread for January....

Wow Mike! Thats awesome!!! :dblthumb2:

I can't wait to get there! Seeing these cars just fills me with more & more butterflies every time. :buffing: Working on machinery like this is a privilege any time but to be doing it along side yourself & a group of like minded enthusiasts at Boot Camp . . . . Wow!!! Somebody pinch me!!!

86 sleeps until we leave now - thinking my lovely lady is going to get a wee bit sick of hearing "are we there yet" when we are over the Pacific . . . hahaha. :props:

Mike - any chance you could please slip a copy of your book on the Flex into your desk drawer until I get there & fix you up for it?

Aaryn NZ.

82 sleeps to go!!! :dblthumb2:

Summer weather for us today down here, 26 degrees (celsius) sun shining & a long weekend. :xyxthumbs:
Although . . . . we just got a high wind warning on this evenings news. 140 kilometre winds expected tomorrow. :nomore:

Excited seeing the cars Mike has found for us to work on at Boot Camp! That Nova is way cool! We don't see too many Nova's down this way - gorgeous car for sure.
Thinking that I probably could stay in Florida . . . I keep reading on here about Boot Camp, Thursday night projects, Detail Fest, Tuesday Night Car Shows, Fall Fest, Cars & Coffee etc etc . . . man - you guys are doing it tough. Jealous with a capital J!!!

Counting down the days, soon to be counting down the hours! Very exciting!!!

Aaryn NZ. :dblthumb2:

26°!

Don't rub it in. Right now it's 19°F (-7C) here. Now about that wind...you can keep that (LOL).

82 and a wake up...time is flying for ya.

Bill

Wow Mike! Thats awesome!!! :dblthumb2:

And we also have this car....

Met my friend Tad at the Tuesday night CarSpa Car Show and he asked me if I'd like to have his car for this detailing boot camp class and I said....

Heck Yeah!

Tad's 1972 Nova

Looks good in this picture but the sun is going down. In reality the paint is filled with swirls and scratches and needs to be clayed badly.

Already have one set aside...

I also have a neglected white daily driver for going over Production Detailing....

For anyone reading this thread, I always create a thread for each class showing the cars we'll be working on....

I added this Suburban yesterday... it's kind of beat but this is a good representative of the types of cars you detail in the detailing industry. It's more cars like this than the Nova pictured previously....

G'day Bill.

Ummm . . . -7C!? Wow thats cold Bill! We may sometimes hit -6C a couple of times during winter but not too often. You get colder than that though huh? You also get snow, here in Blenheim we have seen snow (briefly) two days in the last twenty years or so, at sea level. I take my hat off to ya Bill, I'm pretty sure my vital organs start shutting down at -5C.
Yeah the wind sucks. It is "windy season" for us but we have had a few really bad days lately.

How about these cars Mike has install for me Bill? Pretty awesome I reckon. Very exciting & you're right - time is flying! :props:

Have a great weekend Bill & keep warm yeah!!

It IS a bit early in the season for those low temps...just kinda of rude reminder what is coming starting around the middle of Dec. But right now (7AM) it's 37F. So, it's kinda all the map right now.

It actually isn't unusual for low temps to get to the -20°F (-29°C) during the height of winter. People say you get used to those temps, well to that I say emphatically...BS!

As for the snow...yup. Total snow averages 5 FEET or so! When you add the wind to the equation...seeing drifts over 10-15 feet isn't unusual. We have a 5 foot chain-link fence around the back yard and it will have snow drifts over top in spots.

I for one, hate winter! Long story short...wife is from this area and when we retired she wanted to be close 'to family.'

Mike does have some beauties lined up. That poor white Suburban is going to been stunning when all of you are finished with it. I've never been a big fan of white vehicles (even though I DO have white FS Chevy truck-LOL), but 'that' white WILL pop to look fantastic.

Off to rake leaves...

Bill

Geeze Bill!
. . . . ummm . . -29c?!?! Really? No way i can even imagine how cold that would be!!! Do you hibernate or go on vacation over winter Bill? Wow thats a whole lot of snow! I'm going to remember this in winter Bill, & every time i complain about how cold it is - i will think of you & suck it up i think.

Yeah as much as the SIVs are going to be awesome - turning a DD around is pretty rewarding. I'm looking forward to it. Looking forward to all of it, its going to be one heck of an experience for sure! :dblthumb2:

Friday for me tomorrow. Take it easy Bill & keep warm yeah.

Hello Mike.

Hope Sema is going awesome for you guys. Really doesn't look that much fun though mate . . . Yeah right!!!

Thank you for posting these cars & letting us get a glimpse of what we will be working on. Yep - the Suburban is closer to what my days consist of. Sure the SIVs are beautiful, exciting & fun to work with but in reality SIVs probably don't even make up 2% of my clientele. The Suburban will come up looking pretty sharp I'm thinking! :dblthumb2:

Keep up the awesome work Mike!

Aaryn NZ. :dblthumb2:

You're going to have a blast, Aaryn. Mike is a great dude and will teach you a ton!

Aaryn, I believe that we are down to 78 sleeps before class. I am starting to get excited now.

Awesome, thank you Mark. :xyxthumbs:

Yeah, I got the feeling Mike is just one of those guys. All too often people that have an abundance of knowledge simply aren't willing to share - as soon as i stumbled across Autogeek & started reading Mikes posts & watching his videos i knew i wanted to go to Boot Camp! Mike is a giver, his knowledge is clearly vast but the time he puts into sharing, helping, teaching etc is such an unselfish & priceless act that we all benefit from. Never thought i would be going to Boot Camp so soon or at all . . . sometimes you just have to put life into perspective & do the things you dream of. Can't wait to get there! :dblthumb2:

Thanks for the support Mark.

Aaryn, I believe that we are down to 78 sleeps before class. I am starting to get excited now.

Haha - Mike, i'm a day ahead of you so 77 sleeps for me. :props: Though, with a massive time spent on plane travel, i'm guessing it'll be more like 81 sleeps.

AZ - sorry Mike for my ignorance but is that Arizona?

Loving the cars Mike has found for us already mate. That Nova is a sweet looking ride. Exciting tools & new products for us to play with also huh. I'm looking forward to having (hopefully) a go with Pinnacles new compound & the Wolfgang AIO. The new Megs pads look great too! I may need a BIG suitcase on the trip home! The new Flex rotary looks nice - reminds me of a Rupes that i had years ago, very similar in size too from what i can tell in the pictures. Way too much to get excited about! :dblthumb2:

Not long now Mike!!!

Hello everyone. :xyxthumbs:

Boot Camp update . . . been a while.

60 sleeps to go!!! Wow that has come around fast! :dblthumb2: So super busy at work. Peak time over here & everyone wanting things done before Christmas.

We have a local car show coming up in December, I will be sure to post some pictures of the "best" & "worst" our little town has to offer.
