Dammit I just made pancakes and bacon for dinner and forgot about this.
They were some nice big 7"-8" fluffy discs made with Bisquik. Log Cabin syrup warmed up.
The bacon was plain old Hormel black label thick cut.

That's where I learnt it, she called it toad in the hole, which it really isn't. That's a completely different dish.
One of my favourite parts of making it, after buttering the bread and cutting the hole, is eating the little piece of buttered bread from the hole.
