Bought a Black Porsche 911. Need help with buffing swirls

Just bought this 91 Porsche 911 Targa about 3 months ago. Love the car and use it as my daily. Paint job wasnt perfect so I repainted the whole car and wetsanded with 2000 grit to make it look real slick. PPG base/ clear paint. The car turned out great but no matter what I do I cant seem to get out all of the buffing swirls. I used 3m ultra cut compound with a wool pad to get my scratches out. I then turned to a black foam pad with m205. Then I used a blue finishing pad on my rotary with 3m ultra fina. I only see the swirls in the sun. Paint is now cured enough to wax but I dont wanna wax it or glaze it just to hide the swirls and they come back after a few washs. Here are some pics of the car but you cant see the swirls cause its in the shade. Any help or advise will be apprecited. Also what wax should I use? Thanks in advance

re-paint it red?

First off, gorgeous Targa. Second, maybe the wool pad via rotary is just way too aggressive, even on a repaint. Are you checking the results after the UC? Inspect in the sun if you can after that first step. The answer may be some tweaking on technique. I strictly use a Flex and PC these days with foam pads. I retired my rotary since I am doing mostly Porsche's with factory (soft) paint. There are a ton of rotary experts on here and hopefully they will chime in.
 
I do have a air powered dynabrade DA. Ive tried it also with m205 and it doesnt seem to make a difference eithier
 
I was hopin you were closer. Is it possible that new swirls are being introduced during a wipedown? That happens to my 944 all the time (prior to Cquartz). I would tape off a small section and lets try to get that perfected first. You will need to play around with speed settings, product, pad etc. Sun tests are a must between steps on a black car. if you can perfect that one spot, then you have your process essentially dialed in. Patience, patience, paitence. Polishing paint is a marathon not a sprint. We are here for ya!
 
wool pad is too aggressive to go straight to a gray pad with 205. maybe a polish pad with the same compound will remove most of the holograms. IMO.
 
I'm certainly new to using a polisher, so I'm not giving advice, but asking a question: After some things I've learned from you guys over the last few months, wouldn't he be better off with something like Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover, Wolfgang Finishing Glaze & Wolfgang Paint Sealant, with a DA and foam pads.........since this is newer paint and he's dealing with swirls not deep scratches?
 
Another noob here, but my guess is that going from the wool pad/compound to black pad/m205 is too big of a step. The black pads have no cut. If I were you I would try the m205 with a white pad and then see if you can get the swirls out.

Just noticed that this is basically what Jhaight11 said.
 
My thoughts also that there simply is insufficient cut from the black and the wool will certainly have left it's own marks.
 
That Targa is giving me chills just looking at it and wanting to get my hands on it. I would reconsider the pad/product combos used.

He's in Austin not to close to mesquite, but I'm sure for the right amount of money he would travel and if not around the middle of June is my next opening lol

Thanks for the offers but ill pass. Im a painter and trying to figure out how to buff and polish my paint jobs. Any one else have any advise? Mike?
 
just a little heads up i'm a painter too using PPG (aqua-base plus) paints and PPG recommends waiting 90 days before you should put any waxes on your car
