Bought My Dream Car

Thanks everyone! I will try to get some more pictures of the car soon. I'm still learning what the car has to offer and will post a review soon. So far I'm loving everything about the car, I have been taking the long way to and from work and it's still not enough seat time.

I was able to detail some parts of the car, I am pleased with the results and just need more nice days like today so I can get the entire car looking great.

I cleaned the seats then coated with PBL leather coating.

I washed and decontaminated/clayed the hood. I then used an orange pad with Wolfgang TSR, followed with a white pad with Wolfgang polish enhancer. I did a wipe down with the Wolfgang coating prep and finally finished with Uber coating.

LOVE those seats! Very nice. Paint/surface is looking mighty good! Nice work on removing those swirls and getting that metallic popping! All in all, a great car!

what did you use to decontaminate the paint and did you get any color change with it? i did my fathers truck yesterday. its 10 years old and we live less then a mile from a train station and i hardly got any color change except on the tires

IronX, a little color change but not much, I didn't even bother taking pics. I know new cars can be contaminated, but it was stored in the dealers garage after the original owner upgraded after a few months. When I finish the wheels I will post the bleeding pictures, those wheels had some iron particles!

Today was a sunny, 45 degrees, the car finally got a much needed mini detail. I can't wait until spring weather arrives so that I can remove the rest of the paint defects, it is driving me insane!

My process:

Hosed down the car to get rid of the caked on salt

Uber rinseless wash, the panels were presoaked with Uber prior to washing.

The car was blown dry then topped with Uber Spray Wax.

The tires were cleaned twice with some left over DP tire restorer, then two coats of Blackfire dressing

The wheels were cleaned with Meguiars D-143 then protected with Hydro.

I will be coating the paint and wheels with Uber when the weather gets better. I ordered McKee's metal polish for my exhaust tips. After seeing the reviews, I am anxious to see how good the tips are going to look.

That car just has the look. As others have said those seats are perfectly styled. I like white, so easy to spot every last bit of dirt, tar and contamination.

What have you been getting for gas mileage? When cruising on the highway.

I am glad I got white, it was 3 weeks without a wash and it didn't look terrible, it does hide salt pretty well. I am excited to get a proper detail on the car and get it back to where it should be.

For gas mileage:

In the city-
Automatic normal mode about 18-19.
Paddle shifters in sport mode 17-18.
Dynamic mode paddle shifters, driving in a spirited fashion 15-16.

Highway-
I took 3 longish trips about 100 miles each and averaged 24-25.

One of my favorite things is the app that comes with the car. Besides remote start and locking/unlocking anywhere in the world it tells you how far you drove for each trip and the gas milage. My personal record is 26.7 mpg. It was raining/snowing so I was going pretty slow. I was also in the rain/snow mode, not sure how much that helps fuel efficiency.
