Really? Maybe the product is slightly different I'm using. The 915 I have spreads velvety smooth. Maybe they have tweaked it.
 
The pic of the rear fender flare says it all for me.
Gonna lay it down on the Regal sometime soon... :idea: maybe even Ol' Blue.
I need to stop ordering stuff and NOT using it.
 
WoW! I have had the 915 for a couple months now and haven't even used it because I was waiting to get a couple 3" pads to apply with DA because off the talk from some here.

Last night I decided to try by hand on my just washed DD, a dark grey Corolla. I used BnS red foam applicator. The ease of application HONESTLY was the easiest to spread out, took so little I didn't even make a dent. I did the entire car then dressed my tires. I then wiped off all panels with no effort at all, it just cleaned right off. It was late at night and the temp must have been around 50° .
I had used Megs gold paste before, but that only happened once because I hated the process by hand and to top that it was dusty on removal. Now this morning I noticed that glow from 915, it added depth and just looks like it has a layer of glass, Megs just doesn't compare.

Only complaint I have is not jumping on 915 sooner!

How exactly do you get a pad into the small cicumference opening of the can of #915? I'm sorry you've had issues when applying by hand but its just never been a problem for me. Could weather conditions be an issue, maybe?

I may have over applied because the vehicle I applied it to could've benefitted from a cleaner wax after I clayed it. It was really sticky applying it and the foam applicator wanted to fold up a lot.
When using a machine, I get a butter knife a scoop a small amount on the pad and wipe it on like you would butter toast.

This is true for #845 as well, I've had my bottle for about 4 years now.
 
Do you heat up the container a bit Killa, just curious? I think your onto something about the why its a little harder to remove for you, me on the other hand, well, I layer a lot, which is probably why I have never had an issue applying/removing anything, LOL!

That's a HT 3" pad??? Mine look different. I have that pad in both heights. It looks like your edges are beveled - but mine are 90 degrees.

It is poured in limited batches, so there could be slight differences. I think a lot of it has to do with the applicator and paint surface.

I agree with you on the paint thing, but I think the manufacture of 915 is only limited to how much they think they can sell.

Yep Steve its a 3" HT pad.

I know the 4" pads are a straight cut
 
Can't to tap the block of wax out of the pot? I've done that with other paste waxes when I feel like applying it via machine.
 
I apply any solid Collinite product by hand but spread it using a PC and it does spread a long, long way.

Using a microfiber (or cotton) applicator of your choice, load it up (sparingly) as you would if you were going to apply it by hand & spread it by hand in a small 8" x 8" area. You're doing this just to transfer a small amount from container-to-surface and then let your PC do the work.

I've used a red LC pad or a black LC pad with PC on 3 and the product just spreads & spreads and spreads. As someone else said, "thin is in" and this will make removal so much easier. I found it difficult to put down a consistently thin layer by hand, some spots buffed off easily when applied by hand and others ..... not so much.

2 layers (just because I'm anal & don't want to miss a spot) of 476 have lasted through Western New York winters for over the last 8 years. Great stuff.
 
NYV6, are you saying 2x's for each winter or 2x's have lasted 8 NY winters, LOL!

I know the machine lays it down better than doing it by hand, maybe the titanium in my shoulder makes me kinda like The Terminator because I lay it down, let it haze and remove it easily.

I wish 2x lasted 8 winters but then I wouldn't be here to read about (and buy) new products.

I figure I bought the PC to save wear 'n tear on my "getting older & creekier day-by-day" joints, especially my elbows which suffer from golf-induced tendonitis .... so let it do the work.

I guess your titanium Terminator shoulder likes to "vax on .... vax off" like Mr Miyagi.

There's a lip to prevent it from accidentally from falling out. Some people like to use a can opener for the bottom and pull it out that way.
