Buff and Shine Uro-Fiber Pads

IMO the uro-fiber cuts just like any other microfiber cutting pad, yet finishes like a foam cutting pad. I would compare it's finishing ability to the Maroon Uro-tec pad if not a little better. This is just my opinion but I think once you use it for the initial cutting stage especially on soft paint you will see why it's such an amazing pad. I think too many people are assuming that it CAN'T be used with a heavy compound because it's marketed as a 1-step microfiber pad and they emphasize it's finishing ability. IMO, it is best used on a large-throw polisher like any other microfiber CUTTING pad.

If it really cuts as good as Meguiars, then i must get these in all sizes! Durability is great too?

Btw do you guys prime microfiber pads? I usually do, but they work without priming too, i should do side by side test.

I do not prime any of my pads. Foam or microfiber. I do blow foam and microfiber pads out with compressed air after every section pass. Generally after 1-2 passes the pads are fully primed anyway. IMO pad priming was more important when using dry compounds like m105. Newer compounds and polishes have suffecient lubrication negating the need to "pre-prime" a pad. This is just my opinion

Also, I would feel confident saying that Uro-fiber pads last AT LEAST 3x longer than megs microfiber which in my opinion offsets the steep price

But the whole "priming the microfiber pad" thing was 1st introduced when Meguiars D300 was released to accompany their microfiber pads.

Very, very good thread. The fact alone that the Meg's MF pads don't dissipate heat very well, I don't use them with long throw polishers. Need more time with the BnS Uro-Fiber. I really like the LC MF cutting pads, however.

I haven't had a lot of time with them yet, but yes, they certainly last longer. I fried my Megs MF pads on the long throw in a very short period of time. Granted, they were older pads so hard to say if the newer ones have stronger velcro. This past weekend I ran my uro-fibers pretty hard for an AIO job. No overheating, no stress on the velcro, etc. I did blow with compressed air at least every panel but I do that with all MF or wool pads. Conversely, the Meg MF pads and D300 on my GG6 worked awesome back in the day they first came out.

Please some one make a side by side test with Megs and or Lake Country pads. Lake Country microfiber pads are very durable and cuts just as good as Meguiars pads.

Well since you appear to use them both, why don't you do a side by side and post the results?

Because i live in Finland and they dont sell uro-fiber here and im not going to order them until im sure they are worth it. Again i dont need one step pads, orange hex quantum or yellow Rupes for those.

My mistake, I thought you wanted someone to post the differences between the Meguiars & Lake Country pads. I read it wrong.
