Burnouts at AG - Who did this?

Those of you that *think* a stock vette can't do a burnout clearly have never drivin anything performance orientated. I've owned several. Turn the traction control of and there is no issue at all. Torque management has nothing to do with the situation; trust me I work with HP Tuners and LS1 edit.

Auto: trac off, brake torque it. Spins till you let off.

6 speed: trac off, rev it up and drop the clutch. Spins till you let off.

OOPS!!! Sorry for not ringing the doorbell as I flew by.

Believe him, he speaks the truth!

If I put my Z06 in competitive mode I can smoke the tires until the cows come home.....:dblthumb2:

Good for you for having worked with HP Tuners... so have I. I've owned and driven several performance oriented vehicles that would scare most people to even ride in. I know of what I speak. :xyxthumbs:

^^ agreed!

With traction control turned off, brake torquing an automatic or dropping the clutch on a 6-speed will lay all the rubber you want. How the heck were you not able to?

when torque management is coded out of the PCM a Vette will indeed spin easily and auto's will chirp 2nd hard especially in comp mode. Fortunately the runflats dont leave that much residue however. They are quite quiet in burnouts too , Michellin Ps2's even quieter at spin. (Mike suggested he heard it)

I suspect it was Matt .:props:

Yep, put a Chuck COW tune in a c6 and the auto auto will spin em good through second in stock form. Add intake, headers and exhaust tuned in for a little bit more.

Ha, yup just going to say that the new vettes won't do it as far as I know. My dads new vettes traction control won't let it slip.

Don't ask how I know that, I will deny I said anything.

:EDIT: Well hmmm I just watched the vid. Maybe its because I don't have an accent.

press the button in on the center of your dads new vette till it says comp (or TC off), then try again.

I'm closing in on 300hp to the front wheels, and have plenty of torque to smoke them up, but it was not me;) I don't think i even have any tread to waste at this point!

Matt just got some modifications done to his S2000, could it be him?

300 to the front has gotta yank on the arms a bit when gittin on it.

One thing I've learned. Never challenge "Corvette Guy" or its on :bolt:

I'm heading over there this afternoon. I will be sneaking that bad boy out and looking for that button. :dblthumb2:

Well they're too short to be mine. This summer I treated a tailgater to an enormous cloud of tire smoke when we stopped at a stop sign, he stayed about a quarter mile back after that.

Of course this explains why my All Season tires aren't gripping in the snow like they did last year.

If my wife reads this,:bat: it never happened :dig: it's just guy talk, yeah that's it:idea: guy talk.......:dig:

Little birdie told me tonight it might have been Max!

Really? I don't know if the founder and ceo of a major internet retailer would/should comport themselves in such an unrefined manner.

Aww, screw it - enjoy the road Max, and keep the rubber side down! :xyxthumbs: :dblthumb2: :props:

Besides, Mike can probably buff out anything that comes up :urtheman:

Good for him! He should be able to enjoy his vette and nice concrete to do burnouts on :xyxthumbs: If he did do it, tell him I give him props for keeping the tires that straight :props:

I agree, very nice form, especially with the tidy little pile of powdered rubber.

I little light on the right tire, but maybe someone in the drivers seat had a good lunch. ;)

Burn outs "occifer"? I mean "officer". I could a told ya earlier, we wus suppose to have ah...ah, what wus it, oh a big ol' "turn out" for Maxey's & Mikey's Christmas party---them thar tracks ya see is from the beer truck---he was just stoppin' too fast cause it was his first time here and almost missed the place.

Interesting... I've tried more than once in C5 and C6 'vettes to do just that and the engine TM shuts me right down every time.

Now, in an LS1 Camaro on the other hand, you put the throttle down and it'll smoke 'em until the tires burst.

I love how this thread has turned into a Corvette pissing match.

My god.
