Buying a used Mytee

Since a new one shipped is around 875. I wanted to know how much would you pay for a used mytee that was used for one season and came with everything.

My limit was around 550 used.. Should I just dish out the extra $$$$$ for a new one? Or they are built like a monster and will last forever?

Can someone give me some advice? I want to add mytee to my arsenal. It's a mytee lite II 8070.
 
It seems a used one wouldnt be very easy to find. How often do you plan on using it?

If your dont plan on using it much, you may want to hold off. Just my two cents...
 
The Mytee Lite II works pretty well though, if you do decide to get one, I think you would be happy with it.
 
I'm trying to start my own business. I think I will use it for anytime there a nasty interior that needs to be taken cared of.
 
I think the Mytee Lite II would be a great choice for you. And even better if you could pick up a used one.
 
Slick those units are a preatty good sized unit......you being mobile I would look into something a little bit smaller. Just a suggestion.
 
Another question... Can a steamer do the same or better job then an expensive extractor? Steamer I see usually go for around 100-200 bucks while a extractor goes for 800-1500 dollars.

What are you opinion about Steamer VS Extractor?
 
I have a Mytee Stinger, maybe 15 years old,replaced a pump, and cleaned the lines out a few times, heater is still fine, bought it new.

Check with some of the commercial carpet cleaning companies, JonDon is one, do a google. The guy in the business use these machines for high rise building and landlords use them for rentals,

Some guys just like new toys.

Personally I don't think of a steamer or extractor as an "either or" tool choice -- I think both have uses.

That said, if you can only afford one tool I'd go with a steamer over an extractor since it's more versatile. I don't currently have an extractor, but I'm making due with my steamer until I have the cash and the room in my shop to get one.
 
Mytee Lite II is a great extractor. Personally, I would stay away from a used one. If you know how to maintain and use an extractor properly...it will last a loooong time. But, there's some rules that should be followed....you just never know who had the extractor before you.

It would suck if you bought it, then all the sudden the heater stopped working, or the vac, or the pump, etc. If you're gonna get one...just get brand new.

I've had the steamer vs. extractor discussion many times. It really just depends on what you want to use it for. For me, I don't like steamers for carpets...but, then again...I don't have an expensive steamer. The pricey steamers have vacuums as well. That would change it, and I'm sure you could get equal results to an extractor. Only problem is...they're $1000+.

I like to have an extractor, and a cheaper steamer...that way I got both. :xyxthumbs:
