Bye Bye Blue!

It is always nice to have a new ride.

Jim -
Audis are excellent cars and no one has ergonomics down like Audi.

Here's to you knowing the love for your wife trumps the love of any car :props:

Enjoy the ride.

The Audi probably will blend in a bit more than an XLR, but certainly a nice and worthy substitute. Did ya get black ??????

An Auburn fan and now an Audi owner...A5 at that...You're after my heart!
The car: Unless there are a lot of them on the road up there, you will get comments and stares ALL the time. My A5 is over two years old, 34,000 miles, and just today I had a guy tell me he loved it. The running lights are uber-cool, and to me there is still no other newer car on the road that can compare with the styling. I just love it. Very good choice.
The paint: I don't know about the cabri, but with mine, it is SO easy to polish...meaning, you don't have a lot of taping to do. There's basically paint and glass - very easy. Again, I think you will love it....but, obviously, I'm a little biased!
Big thanks. there is very little black trim. The grill, wiper cowl and a black piece on the bottom of the rear bumper. Polished metal around the windshield pillars and the fabric roof. we agree about the LED running lights and body design. Veryy nice lines! We drove it in the hills for 3 hours. My wife got the back to slide out once but it QUICKLY recovered. Very solid and on the way home it was heating up. We put the top up at about 30 mph, per design. Way cool! BTW I graduated Auburn at the old age (at the time) of 29. I graduated an Electrical Engineer and daughter graduated a Chemical Engineer. I gather you are AU too! War Eagle!

Congrats on the new ride. Audi paint is mostly hard clear coat, the one exception i have found is the clear on the black seems softer.
I hope it is hard and expect it to be. Wonder why clear on black seems softer.

Congrats on the Audi.

There is something about an Audi, it's just so lovely to drive and so lovely to ride in. Sold and well built, being in one is a pleasure and seems to always have a feel of high quality German engineering about everything in it. I know you're gonna love it!!!

Post some pics when you can :dblthumb2:
Will do Matt! I am seeing why you feel this way!

I think you are right Scott. We got Quartz Gray which is a nice color. We had a few looks today!

Will wash & post tonight!

Congrats on your new ride. The way you take care of your cars, I don't think you need to worry about the hard clear. Happy Father's Day, Jim.

Hey Jim,

Those decisions are a part of life and I'm sorry you had to let it go... That said, a new Audi A5 Cabriolet passed me on the way home from New Hampshire today and talk about one impressive car! :props:

I wish you the best of luck with it!

Ron, I still have the C1 and C5 to use on the Audi! I prefer the hard clear. Thanks for the kind words buddy!

Thanks Bobby! It exceeded my expectations and more importantly, my wife Kim's! I think we will spend a lot more time in the hills now!
