I recently applied C6 Matt Dash and L1 leather guard to the interior of my (now gone) Ford Maverick. The interior on the maverick is prone to scuffing, and both of these products are supposedly abrasion resistant. I am going to say now, I dont know if they added protection, or improved cleanability/anti dusting. I didnt have the car long enough before and after application to really notice. I thought of them as a "why not"
I will also be applying them both to my GTI and my Jetta in the near future and update down the road.

I applied both using some Meguiars foam wax applicators. Gtechniq recommends foam when applying. Application is straight forward, clean the surface well, make sure it is dry, and at a reasonable temp (AKA dont try to do your dash if its been in the sun and is hot to the touch) Spray a bit into the foam applicator and apply like you would an interior dressing. You can tell where it goes on, but not for long. After you finish a panel, follow up with a microfiber to level as a safety step. This goes for both l1 and C6

Post application it is almost indistinguishable from untreated trim and leather. If anything, it looks "more new" like the factory finish just slightly amplified.
If you split the dash, you could likely tell, but telling a car before and after would be tough. Personally, I am fine with this. As long as protection is there, it lets me choose my QID of choice later on. I reached out to Gtechniq and they did confirm that using a QID or mild interior cleaner is completely fine.

The application is easy, though using the foam applicator will cramp your hand after a bit. I will probably try a microfiber applicator this time. Like i said, dont know if it works, but its good piece of mind.

Thank you for the review/post on these. Looking forward to seeing your VW posts!

Hi all, Just a quick update. I applied c6 and l1 to my GTI. using a microfiber applicator is WAY easier than the foam puck. I LOVE the way the dsah looks now. It could just be that its clean, but it sort of glows in that matt finish way. Not shiny at all, but very nice. Really hope it lasts a while.

Looked up the c6 matt dash. Interesting product. Anything that would help prevent scratches is a win.

My experience with Gtechniqs non coating items was more miss than hit, but so far really enjoying these two.

I do think the L1 has a little bit of a feel shift on the leather, but not greasy like some treatments, and not slick like Gyeon.
