Didn't anyone read the original post from Chris ? He stated he didn't want to spend anywher near $1,000.00 and then members bombard him with Digital SLR's that are way over a grand. Go figure.

Yea that's a high number. i posted earlier that i bought my XTi with the 18-55mm lens (kit lens) for about 300 shipped. It was used obviously but it offers the manual settings that are great to learn on.
