Can I air dry my microfibers?

I wash all my towels using the sanitary mode on my washer. They come out looking brand new.

I always air dry my micro fibers on drying racks. I then put them back in the dryer for a quick fluff with dryer balls. Fold and go.

I have machine dried my MF towels in the past and now fully air dry. I will admit to wanting dry towels when my inventory of towels were all used up on the previous job and had another one lined up the next day as i got busier. Now i have so many MF's that i can afford the time to allow an air dry some that were used and still have some clean, dry one's waiting.

I have noticed a slightly better quality of towel when air dried. I also do a distilled vinegar rinse about every third wash and have found it does help from my experience. I also didn't like the additional static associated with even an "air only" dryed cycle.

And just to add on what Pat said...dry, INSPECT, fold and go!

Just my experience anyway.

air drying is good is you have the time to wait and do not need them right away. I do hand wash and air dry towels if I only dirty a couple of small ones. if I have enough to user the washer and dryer I do dry my towels on a light drying cycle to try and avoid excessive heat and the static as mentioned already.

Both, slight heat in dryer, then air dry for safety.

Air only cycle has never been a problem even though I use dryer sheets for normal loads/.

Ever notice the dust, and other air-borne contaminates, that's flying around and then winds up accumulating around the house, furniture, garage, vehicles, TVs, etc.?

Those same contaminates will also be accumulating on, and then within, your wet hung-up-to-dry MF-towels.

Therefore...IMO:
Less contamination-accrual when
they're dried in the Dryer.

So, as you're polishing or working on your vehicle for hours do you keep your MF towels in zip-lock baggies? There's going to be contaminants that will accumulate in our towels regardless. Shake after hang dry for me and periodically during use.
